METHOD FOR OPERATING AN EXHAUST GAS BURNER
A method for operating an exhaust gas burner (3) downstream of an internal combustion engine (1) and upstream of an exhaust gas catalytic converter (4), comprising controlling an ignition device (12) of the exhaust gas burner (3) during a predeterminable preheating phase without supplying fuel (11) to the exhaust gas burner (3) during the preheating phase and, after completion of the preheating phase, supplying fuel (11) to the exhaust gas burner (3) and burning the supplied fuel (11) in the exhaust gas burner (3). A processor unit and a computer program product for carrying out such a method are furthermore proposed.
Idle speed GPF regeneration
Systems and methods are described for coordinating the regeneration of a gasoline particulate filter to a time duration when engine output falls below a predetermined load threshold selected to indicate a low power state of the engine. In one particular example, the engine is configured to adjust engine operations to regenerate the particulate filter responsive to engine output falling below a predetermined low power threshold, the regeneration further based on an estimated duration that the output falls continuously below the low power threshold. The system and methods described advantageously allow for either full or partial regeneration events to be performed based on the estimated duration of the engine output below the low power threshold.
METHOD OF OPERATING AN AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A method is disclosed for operating an aftertreatment system having a diesel particulate filter of an internal combustion engine of an automotive system. A regeneration event of the diesel particulate filter is started. The presence of an object ahead of the automotive system is detected. A value of a deceleration that the automotive system should perform in order to avoid a collision with the object is determined. A temperature of the diesel particulate filter is reduced if the value of the deceleration is greater than a first predetermined threshold value.
Optimizing diesel, reductant, and electric energy costs
Systems and methods to reduce operating expenses of a vehicle based on control of operation of a vehicle system. The system includes a controller. The controller is structured to receive one or more parameters comprising expense data, adjust operating expenses of a vehicle system based on the one or more parameters, and generate a command structured to adjust operation of the vehicle system responsive to the adjustment of the operating expenses.
CONTROLLING AN EXHAUST GAS AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM
The present disclosure generally relates to a computer implemented method for controlling an exhaust gas aftertreatment system (EATS), specifically applying a scheme for preventing heat reduction at the EATS based on the estimated heat reduction. The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding exhaust gas aftertreatment system (EATS) and a computer program product.
Exhaust gas purification control device for construction machine
An exhaust gas purification control device includes an engine, an actuator using the engine as a driving source, an operation unit used by an operator to operate the actuator or the engine, an operation detector detecting whether or not the operation unit is being operated, a purification device for capturing soot in exhaust gas of the engine, an accumulation amount detector detecting an accumulation amount of the soot captured by the purification device, a regeneration unit for performing an regenerating operation of regenerating the purification device by burning the soot captured by the purification device, and a controller controlling the regenerating operation. The controller switches a control from a control of prioritizing an operation by the operation unit to a control of prioritizing the regenerating operation in a stepwise manner as the accumulation amount of the soot detected by the accumulation amount detector increases.
Systems and methods for engine brake diagnostics and control
A system for diagnosing engine braking performance of an engine comprising a plurality of cylinders comprises an exhaust manifold pressure sensor configured to detect an exhaust manifold pressure corresponding to exhaust gas emitted from a plurality of cylinders. A controller is configured to determine an exhaust manifold pressure value corresponding to at least one cylinder of the plurality of cylinders that is being used for engine braking, from an exhaust manifold pressure sensor signal received from the exhaust manifold pressure sensor. The controller is also configured to determine an engine braking value based on the exhaust manifold pressure value.
Fluid volume determination enhanced by assessment of vehicle operative state
A method of determining a volume of a fluid in a reservoir arranged in a vehicle includes assessing, via a controller, whether a first sensor operatively connected to the reservoir and configured to detect a predetermined level of the fluid in the reservoir has been triggered. The method also includes detecting, via a second sensor, a vehicle operative state indicative of inclination of a free surface of the fluid in the reservoir. The method additionally includes communicating, via the second sensor, the detected vehicle operative state to the electronic controller and determining a degree of inclination of the free surface of the fluid in response to the detected vehicle operative state. Furthermore, the method includes determining, via the controller, the volume of the fluid in the reservoir when the first sensor has been triggered in response to the determined degree of inclination of the free surface of the fluid.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FACILITATING REGENERATION OF PARTICULATE FILTERS IN A FLEET OF VEHICLES
A system and method that forwards information concerning the condition of the particulate filter (14) in each fleet vehicle to a remote station (56). This information is sorted (114) and displayed (62) to a human operator, who then makes a decision regarding particulate filter maintenance, on a fleet wide basis (116). The human operator may select a set of vehicles to undergo filter regeneration during a particular time slot, at a facility with a limited capacity to perform filter regeneration during any particular time slot. Typically, this will be overnight, for example for a metropolitan bus service that is busy during the day but has greatly reduced or nonexistent service at nighttime.
EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM WITH HEATED DOSING CONTROL
An exhaust aftertreatment system for use with over-the-road vehicle is disclosed. The exhaust aftertreatment system includes a reducing agent mixer with a mixing can and a heated doser unit configured to inject heated reducing agent into the mixing can for distribution throughout exhaust gases passed through the mixing can. Heating of reducing agent may be selectively applied based on a variety of inputs to a controller.
