Environment Replicator for Proxy Robot Handlers
A method for replicating the terrain of a remote environment by a terrain replicator with a plurality of extendable elements is disclosed. The method includes mounting the plurality of extendable elements in close proximity on the surface of a flat stage to form a matrix of extendable elements; connecting each extendable element in the matrix to a control node in an array of control nodes, wherein each control node in the array is assigned to control one extendable element in the matrix of extendable elements; sending data of an actual physical terrain in the remote environment to a terrain analysis computer in the terrain replicator; converting the remote terrain data by the terrain analysis computer into a terrain-generating data stream for driver electronics; producing by the driver electronics a plurality of control signals from the terrain-generating data stream, wherein each signal in the plurality of control signals addresses a control node in the array of control nodes to extend or retract each extendable element in the matrix of extendable elements; and generating by the matrix of extendable elements a topography precisely corresponding to the topography of the actual physical terrain at the remote environment.
Resistive exoskeleton control design framework
A resistive exoskeleton control system has a controller generating a positive resistance by shaping a closed loop integral admittance of a coupled human exoskeleton system wherein a frequency response magnitude of the integral admittance is lower than that of a natural human joint for desired frequencies of interest and generating an assistance ratio of approximately zero for the desired frequencies of interest.
Stationary bike comprising cylindrical elastic feet
A stationary bike has a main frame. The main frame has a base that is configured to be laid on the ground. The base has its end surface facing the ground provided with a plurality of elastic feet that are arranged symmetrically with intervals therebetween for pressing on the ground. The elastic foot is made of a soft, elastic material and contains therein an inner space defined by a circular wall. When the elastic foot receives an external force from the base, the circular wall of the elastic foot deform correspondingly, thereby allowing the main frame to jolt and simulate road-riding experience.
Exercise apparatus
An exercise apparatus including a frame, and a cushion adjacent to the frame having a surface. The exercise apparatus further includes a harness wearable by the user and a resistance member extending between the harness and the frame and where the tension within the resistance member is variable.
Method and system for virtual hiking
A virtual biking system and a virtual hiking method by which a user can bike indoors while simulating actually being outdoors are provided. The virtual hiking system includes a Personal Computer (PC) configured to display a simulation screen, a motion platform configured to move corresponding to a state of a road of the simulation screen displayed on the PC, and a bicycle fixed onto the motion platform such that the simulation screen is changed corresponding to a movement and a speed of a handle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING PERFORMANCE SIGNATURES
A system and method for using performance signatures can include generating a set of performance features during an activity of the first participant by collecting kinematic data from at least one inertial measurement unit and generating a set of biomechanical signals; combining the set of performance features into the performance signature; generating at least a second performance signature from a set of participants; comparing the performance signature of the first participant to at least the second performance signature; and applying a result of the comparison to an interaction with at least one participant.
PORTABLE PADDLEBOARD EXERCISE APPARATUS
A portable paddleboard exercise apparatus having a balance platform, an elongated member, a paddle handle, and a number of resistance bands. The apparatus may further include a frame with one or more support members configured to support the balance platform. The balance platform includes an upper surface for a user to balance thereon. The elongated member extends from the balance platform. The resistance bands extend from a distal end of the elongated member to the paddle handle. A user may balance on the balance platform in one of a number of positions while pulling the paddle handle against a resistive force generated by the resistance bands.
