An axial piston pump has a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a rotatable, one-piece piston housing carrying one or more pistons movable within one or more respective sleeves formed by the housing. A circumferential row of fixed field members is mounted to the housing at a mounting location formed by the housing, the mounting location being radially outward of the sleeve(s). The pump further has a stator surrounding the piston housing and including a circumferential row of armature windings such that the piston housing and the stator form an electro-magnetic motor operable to rotate the piston housing, and a swashplate engaged with the piston(s) such that rotation of the piston housing relative to the swashplate around an axis of rotation produces reciprocating movement of the piston(s) for the pressurisation of fluid received into the sleeve(s) from the fluid inlet and then discharged from the sleeve(s) to the fluid outlet.

HYDROSTATIC PUMP BARREL WITH SLOPED KIDNEY PORTS

A pump barrel (70) for use in a hydrostatic pump assembly includes a barrel body (88) defining a plurality of piston bores (84) that receive a plurality of pistons moveable within the bores, and a porting face (74) that defines a plurality of ports (72) in fluid communication with the piston bores and providing fluid flow paths into and out from the barrel body. Each port (72) has a leading edge surface and a trailing edge surface relative to a direction of rotation of the pump barrel, said leading and trailing edge surfaces being oriented in a first direction (along line 6-6) at non-right angles relative to the porting face (74). Each port (72) has an inner edge surface (80) and an outer edge surface (82) relative to a radial direction of the pump barrel, said inner and outer edge surfaces (80,82) being oriented in a second direction (along line 9-9) comprising a tilt angle (90,92) relative to the porting face (74) that is different from the angles in the first direction. A hydrostatic pump assembly incorporating such a pump barrel (70) is also disclosed.

WELL SERVICE VALVE SEAT REMOVAL

A valve seat includes a generally cylindrical body that defines a bore extending axially therethrough and has an outer surface. An enlarged diameter portion extends axially from the generally cylindrical body and defines a shoulder surface and an annular surface disposed opposite the shoulder surface; the annular surface is configured to form a seal with a displaceable portion of a valve. An annular notch is formed in the outer surface of the generally cylindrical body, and it extends a distance from a shoulder surface. The annular notch decouples a stiffness of the enlarged diameter portion to thereby increase a radial compressibility of the generally cylindrical body. An annular channel is formed in the outer surface of the generally cylindrical body and is disposed axially below the annular notch. The annular channel is configured to receive a hydraulic fluid to compress radially the generally cylindrical body.

A hydraulic pumping assembly provides reciprocating motion to a sucker rod string coupled to a downhole pump. The pumping assembly includes a hydraulic cylinder, a cylinder rod, a telescoping cylinder sleeve for increasing the effective stroke length, and a cylinder base positioned below the hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic cylinder includes a cylinder barrel, a cylinder head, a piston, and a port configured to direct hydraulic fluid to and from the cylinder barrel. The piston is coupled to the cylinder rod at an upper end of the rod. The cylinder rod slides within the cylinder sleeve, which passes slideably through the cylinder head. The cylinder sleeve moves between an extended position and a retracted position as the piston reciprocates within the cylinder barrel. The cylinder base accommodates the cylinder rod and the telescoping cylinder sleeve in a collapsed position.

A header and a pump end for a cryogenic pump are provided for efficient liquid pumping operation. The header directs supplied liquid into a sump and gas into a freeboard. The liquid in the header can be distributed along the header and decanted over a weir to the sump, the liquid being drawn from the sump and up through the vessel to the pump end. Gas in the freeboard is collected for venting or return to the liquid source. Pump head plunger stroke can be lengthened and operated at slower stroke rates using a large cross-sectional area intake and discharge valves. Plunger seals, supported as a seal pack in a sleeve, are field installable over the plunger. A plunger to drive shim arrangement permits filed adjustment of the stroke.
