A scroll compressor includes an orbiting bedplate. The orbiting bedplate has: an oil passage through which oil supplied from an oil supply passage flows outward in a radial direction of the orbiting bedplate; a lap-side oil supply hole that causes the oil passage to communicate with a lap-formation surface of the orbiting lap at which the orbiting lap is formed; and a thrust-surface-side oil supply hole that causes the oil passage to communicate with a thrust surface of the orbiting bedplate that is opposite to the lap-formation surface of the orbiting bedplate. In the oil passage, an opening and closing mechanism is provided. The opening and closing mechanism closes the thrust-surface-side oil supply hole when the pressure of oil that is drawn from an oil sump by an oil pump and supplied into the oil passage is low, and opens the thrust-surface-side oil supply hole when the pressure of the oil is high.

SCROLL COMPRESSOR AND REFRIGERATION CYCLE APPARATUS

A scroll compressor includes: a shell; a compression mechanism unit accommodated in the shell and defining a compression chamber, the compression mechanism unit having a discharge port through which a discharge chamber and the compression chamber communicate with one another; a discharge valve mechanism that opens and closes the discharge port. The discharge valve mechanism includes a valve seat provided on an outlet portion of the discharge port and a valve and closes the valve seat when sitting on the valve seat. The valve seat includes an annular portion serving as an edge of an opening of the outlet portion and a valve supporting portion that is provided in a region surrounded by the inner circumference of the annular portion and divides the opening of the outlet portion into plural valve seat holes. The valve is in contact with at least a portion of the valve supporting portion and with the annular portion, when sitting on the valve seat.

Noise and vibration management for smoke evacuation system

A system for noise and vibration management of a smoke evacuation system includes a pump that compresses air and produces a pressure differential within an airflow path. The pump may be a sealed, positive displacement pump. The system includes vibration absorption mechanisms disposed between inner and outer housings, as well as on the outside surface of the outer housing. Methods of controlling and regulating a motor of the system to preserve the lifespan of the motor and maintain consistent airflow rates throughout the smoke evacuation system include varying a supply of electrical current to the motor so that it can operate at variable performance levels. Orifices are opened and closed in order to relieve resistance pressures within the airflow path due to clogging and blockages.

A scroll compressor including a casing; an orbiting scroll orbitingly moved inside the casing; a fixed scroll engaged with the orbiting scroll to form a pair of compression chambers; and a main frame supporting the orbiting scroll, wherein the fixed scroll includes a fixed scroll base plate and a fixed scroll wrap protruding from the fixed scroll base plate, wherein the main frame includes a main frame base plate provided on an opposite side of the fixed scroll base plate with respect to the orbiting scroll, and wherein the fixed scroll base plate, the main frame base plate and the casing may form an orbiting space of the orbiting scroll. An orbiting radius of the orbiting scroll is increased inside the casing having a predetermined size, so a refrigerant discharge amount is increased in a state in which the orbiting scroll and the fixed scroll are accommodated inside the casing.

Compressor and refrigeration cycle apparatus

A compressor includes a container provided with an oil reservoir which is provided at a bottom portion of the container to allow oil to be collected in the oil reservoir. In the container, an electric motor mechanism, a rotary shaft, a compression mechanism, and a frame which fixes the compression mechanism to the container are provided. In the frame, a suction port is formed to cause refrigerant having flowed into the space to flow into the compression mechanism, and each of a suction portion and a connection port of the suction pipe, is located at a position which is higher than or the same as the level of the rotary shaft as seen in a rotation axial direction A rib in a first flow passage extends downwards in the direction of gravity from the connection port, extends through an area located above the oil reservoir, and reaches the suction port.
