HLA arrangement using cold formed plunger and manufacturing simplifications
A retainer clip can be used to restrict travel of a hydraulic lash adjuster body relative to a plunger of a hydraulic lash adjuster. A seating depth of the hydraulic lash adjuster can be controlled via a plunger cup in a hydraulic lash adjuster bore. The plunger cup can also restrict purge of lash oil from the hydraulic lash adjuster bore. A rocker arm can comprise a rocker arm body comprising a force-receiving end, a valve end, and a rocker shaft bore. An extension can connect the rocker shaft bore to the valve end. A hydraulic lash adjuster bore can be in the valve end. A plunger cup or an end socket profile can be included in the hydraulic lash adjuster bore for receiving a plunger of a hydraulic lash adjuster.
Rocker arm
A rocker arm for a valve train assembly includes: a first body; a second body mounted for pivotal movement with respect to the first body; and a latching arrangement. The latching arrangement includes a latch pin drivable in response to an external actuator from a first position in which the first body and the second body are un-latched to a second position in which the latch pin latches the first body and the second body together. The latching arrangement includes a piston member and a first biasing member. The piston member is arranged such that if the external actuator attempts to cause the latch pin to be driven from the first position to the second position at a time when the latch pin is prevented from being driven, the piston member moves to bias the biasing member so that the biasing member urges the latch pin to the second position.
Internal combustion engine and vehicle
An internal combustion engine allows easy installment of a support that pivotally supports a rocker arm while preventing fretting wear due to rising of the support. The internal combustion engine includes the support, at least a portion of which is located in a hole of a cylinder head, a rocker arm that is pivotally supported on the support, and a ball plunger that secures the support inside the hole. The ball plunger includes a spring seat that contacts with the support, a ball that contacts with the cylinder head, and a spring interposed between the spring seat and the ball.
HAND FIXATION BAND
A hand fixation band includes a fastening band, a damping element and a sliding arm. The fastening band has a main portion, and a connecting portion protruded outward from one end of the main portion. A free end of the connecting portion protrudes downward to form a first protruding portion. The damping element is assembled to the fastening band. A top surface of an inner side of the damping element is recessed downward to form a first recess. A bottom surface of the damping element is recessed upward to form a second recess. The first protruding portion is assembled in the first recess. The sliding arm is connected with the fastening band and the damping element. One end of the sliding arm protrudes upward to form a second protruding portion. The second protruding portion is assembled in the second recess.
Actuation arrangement for switchable lever
A switchable lever is provided that includes an outer lever, an inner lever pivotably mounted to the outer lever, and a coupling assembly that is capable of selectively locking the inner lever to the outer lever. The coupling assembly includes a coupling pin that has a first end that is configured to be received by an actuator. The coupling pin can be configured with at least one slot, which can be received by the actuator. The coupling pin is moveable from a first, locked position to a second, unlocked position, by an actuator and can be configured to be received by the actuator continuously throughout a valve lift event. The coupling pin can be configured with at least one protrusion that is arranged to be received by an actuator, or the actuator can be configured with at least one protrusion to receive the coupling pin.
Valve actuating mechanism having combined bearing and hydraulic lash adjuster retention device
A retention device for interconnecting a lash adjuster and a finger follower that supports a bearing of a valve actuating mechanism for an internal combustion engine, wherein the retention device includes a body having a lower member, an upper member spaced from the lower member, and an intermediate member interconnecting the lower and upper members. The lower member includes an aperture that is adapted to be received in a groove of the lash adjuster. The intermediate member is secured to the finger follower such that the retention device interconnects the lash adjuster and the finger follower. The upper member includes a bearing retention mechanism that limits movement of the bearing of the finger follower and retains the bearing relative to the finger follower prior to mounting the finger follower and lash adjuster as a part of the valve actuating mechanism of the internal combustion engine.
