In an embodiment, the system includes a stop-start mechanism in communication with an engine operable to cause movement of the vehicle, the stop-start mechanism programmed to shut off the engine at a beginning of a nonoperational period and restart the engine at an end of the nonoperational period. The system also includes a vibration device triggered to cause at least one vehicle component to vibrate when the stop-start mechanism shuts off the engine at the beginning of the nonoperational period, and triggered to cease causing the at least one vehicle component to vibrate when the stop-start mechanism restarts the engine at the end of the nonoperational period.

The reach-based components comprise backhauls and gateways. The wireless gas sensors are acted as nodes to acquire sensor data in a local mesh network and the nodes are connected to the cloud service through the reach-based components, one node can transmit the sensor data to other sensor nodes of the local mesh network. The system measures flammable gas levels with speed, economy and accuracy.
Systems and methods for reducing release of undesired evaporative emissions in plug-in hybrid electric vehicles
Methods and systems are provided for reducing a potential for release of undesired evaporative emissions to atmosphere for vehicles that rely primarily on an electric-only mode of operation for vehicle propulsion. In one example, a method may include in response to a vehicle-on request via a driver of a vehicle, maintaining off a fuel pump that supplies a fuel to a set of port fuel injectors, and re-pressurizing the set of port fuel injectors via operation of the fuel pump based on a predicted engine-start request during a drive cycle following the vehicle-on request. In this way, escape of fuel from pressurized port fuel injectors may be reduced or avoided during engine-off conditions, which may reduce opportunity for release of undesired evaporative emissions to atmosphere.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An internal combustion engine (1) automatically stops when a predetermined idle stop condition is satisfied, and automatically restarts when a predetermined idle stop cancel condition is satisfied. The internal combustion engine (1) is controlled so that when fresh air does not flow into a GPF (18) even if fuel injection is stopped during operation of a vehicle, stop of the fuel injection is permitted even when temperature of GPF (18) is high. That is, the internal combustion engine (1) is controlled so that the stop of the fuel injection is forbidden when the temperature of the GPF (18) is higher than a predetermined temperature T1 and the stop of the fuel injection is allowed when the vehicle stops in a state in which the temperature of the GPF (18) is higher than the predetermined temperature (T1).
Resistive switching memory with replacement metal electrode
A method is presented for facilitating oxygen vacancy generation in a resistive random access memory (RRAM) device. The method includes forming a RRAM stack having a first electrode and at least one sacrificial layer, encapsulating the RRAM stack with a dielectric layer, constructing a via resulting in removal of the at least one sacrificial layer of the RRAM stack, the via extending to a high-k dielectric layer of the RRAM stack, and forming a second electrode in the via such that the second electrode extends laterally into cavities defined by the removal of the at least one sacrificial layer.
Vehicle with a dual path evaporative emissions system
A vehicle system and a method of controlling the system are provided. A second check valve is positioned between and fluidly connects a canister purge valve and an ejector. A controller closes the canister purge valve and controls an electrically driven compressor to open the second check valve to remove moisture and reduce stiction after vehicle key off and during a cold soak. A vehicle system is provided with a controller to open the canister purge valve during one of a plurality of boost events associated with a vehicle driving state to open the second check valve, and open the canister purge valve in response to a subsequent one of the plurality of boost events to open the second check valve and evacuate the canister.
Controller for vehicle and method for controlling vehicle
A controller controls a vehicle including an engine with a fuel vapor processing device. The fuel vapor processing device executes purge control that sends fuel vapor of a fuel tank, via a canister, to an intake passage on condition that air-fuel ratio learning is complete. The controller includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry automatically stops the engine when an automatic stopping condition is satisfied, automatically starts the engine when an automatic starting condition is satisfied, determines that a prohibition condition for prohibiting automatic stopping is satisfied when the air-fuel ratio learning is incomplete, and inhibits automatic stopping of the engine even if the automatic stopping condition is satisfied when determining that the prohibition condition is satisfied.
Control device for internal combustion engine
An ECU includes a cooling water temperature sensor, an intake air temperature sensor, a storage unit, a determination unit, and a calibration unit. In an after-run control performed after the internal combustion engine stops, the determination unit compares a cooling water temperature Tw detected by the cooling water temperature sensor with a first threshold value T1 and determines that the environment is not the cold environment in which an EGR differential pressure sensor is likely to be frozen, if the cooling water temperature Tw is equal to or higher than the first threshold value T1, or if the cooling water temperature Tw is less than the first threshold value T1 but is equal to or higher than a second threshold value T2 which is lower than the first threshold value T1 and an intake air temperature Ta from the intake air temperature sensor is equal to or higher than a third threshold value T3, and determines that the environment is the cold environment otherwise. When the environment is determined as not to be the cold environment, the calibration unit obtains a calibration reference value based on the detection value from the EGR differential pressure sensor. The storage unit stores the calibration reference value obtained by the calibration unit.
Engine throttle body hydrocarbon emissions reduction system
A throttle body for an engine includes a throttle body housing, a throttle body plate supported by and rotatable within the throttle body housing, and a tab carried by the throttle body housing and movable between a first position in which the tab is in direct contact with the throttle body plate to prevent rotation of the throttle body plate and maintain the throttle body plate in a closed position, and a second position in which the tab is not in direct contact with the throttle body plate to permit rotation of the throttle body plate.
Alerting method for predictive maintenance of a high-pressure pump in an internal combustion engine
Disclosed is a method of alerting to the state of a high-pressure pump of an engine including a relief valve, a threshold pressure defining the opening pressure of the relief valve, the pump supplying fuel under pressure to a chamber equipped with a pressure sensor, including the following steps: initializing a computer when the engine is cut off during which cut-off a threshold pressure and a value of a first counter are collected in a memory associated with the computer; measuring the pressure of the fuel in the chamber; incrementing the first counter if the pressure of the fuel in the chamber is above or equal to the threshold pressure; and triggering an alert when the value of the first counter crosses a predetermined threshold.
