A motorcycle intake air guide for guiding an intake air volumetric flow from a front region of a motorcycle to a motorcycle internal combustion engine includes a front air guiding duct, a rear air guiding duct arranged downstream of the front air guiding duct, and a steering head bypass region arranged between and connecting the front and the rear air guiding ducts to one another. The front and the rear air guiding ducts have a closed profile. The steering head bypass region preferably has, in a steering head cross-sectional plane which is arranged orthogonally with respect to a main flow direction of the intake air volumetric flow in the steering head bypass region, a non-closed profile for guiding the intake air volumetric flow around a steering head recess through which a steering head of the motorcycle extends. The steering head may close the non-closed profile at the steering head recess.

A motorcycle intake air guide for feeding an intake air volumetric flow to a motorcycle internal combustion engine includes an unfiltered-air channel, a filtered-air channel, and an air filter therebetween. An intake air guide valve provided in the unfiltered-air channel is configured to change a cross-section of the unfiltered-air channel cross-section. The unfiltered-air channel has a double-flow design at least in sections with a first unfiltered-air partial channel and a second unfiltered-air partial channel which are merged downstream of a steering head of a frame of the motorcycle in a collection region of the unfiltered-air channel. The intake air guide valve is arranged in the collection region, downstream of the first and second unfiltered-air partial channels.

Air flow distribution arrangements in pre-cleaner systems

A spin tube assembly for an engine air cleaner is provided. The spin tube assembly includes a housing, a spin tube panel, a plurality of spin tubes and at least one constrictor. The plurality of spin tubes are supported on the spin tube panel in parallel relation to one another. Each spin tube of the plurality of spin tubes includes a helical element causing air entering the spin tube to rotate such that particles within the air are moved by centrifugal action outwardly against a wall of the spin tube. At least one spin tube of the plurality of spin tubes has a constrictor upstream from the helical element thereof. The constrictor causes a localized restriction of air entering the at least one spin tube compared to the spin tubes without constrictors. Methods of use and configuration are also provided.

Motor vehicle having an air intake system for improved travel through water

A motor vehicle has an air intake system with an air duct. The air duct has an air inlet for taking in ambient air and an air outlet. The air duct has a curved bent section which, upstream, is closer to a vehicle running surface than downstream. In the event of a water level of water entering the air duct that is rising parallel to the vehicle running surface, the internal cross section of the bent section is closed by the water before the water can pass the bent section. A plurality of air openings downstream of the bent section is introduced through a wall of the duct in an outer surface of the duct that points away from the vehicle running surface.

AIR BOX FOR A VEHICLE

A vehicle including a powertrain assembly supported by the frame and an air intake assembly operably coupled to the powertrain assembly. The air intake assembly includes at least one inlet configured to direct air to different portions of an intake housing and filter positioned therein. The filter contains multiple sealing surfaces and a central air outlet.

AIR INTAKE ASSEMBLY FOR MOTORCYCLE

An air intake assembly includes a filter element and an intake conduit having a first end supporting the filter element. The first end forms an inlet opening having a first shape and a second end being adapted for attachment to an engine. The second end forms an outlet opening having a second shape different than the first shape of the inlet opening. The intake conduit also includes a body having an inner wall defining a passageway coupling the inlet and outlet openings. The inner wall has a maximum lateral dimension measured transverse to a central axis of the passageway within a plane that interests both the inlet and outlet openings. The maximum lateral dimension is located adjacent the outlet opening.
