Ejector and ejector-type refrigeration cycle

An ejector includes a nozzle, a body including a refrigerant suction port and a pressure increasing portion, a passage forming member inserted into the nozzle, and an actuation device moving the passage forming member. A nozzle passage includes a smallest passage cross-sectional area portion, a convergent portion, and a divergent portion. The passage forming member includes a tip portion which changes the passage cross-sectional area at the smallest passage cross-sectional area portion when the actuation device moves the passage forming member. A positive displacement amount is defined as an amount of a displacement of the passage forming member when the passage forming member is moved so as to increase the passage cross-sectional area at the smallest passage cross-sectional area portion. The tip portion has a shape in which an increase rate of the smallest passage cross-sectional area portion is increased according to an increase of the positive displacement amount.

An aspirator for an inflatable assembly may comprise a housing and an inlet flap biased away from an interior of the housing. A pressure relief flap may be biased toward the interior of the housing. A manifold may be located in the interior of the housing and configured to output a primary gas flow toward an outlet of the housing. A nozzle may be fluidly coupled to the manifold. The nozzle may be configured to output the primary gas flow to the manifold.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DESALINATING WATER

This disclosure concerns a system and a method for removing dissolved solids from liquids. Specific implementations concern desalinating water. The system may comprise a blower, such as a thermal fan/compressor, configured to atomize a solid-bearing liquid to produce a hot, humid gas containing dissolved solids; a gas-solid separator configured to receive hot, humid gas containing entrained dissolved solids from the blower to separate the solids from the humid gas and to transmit the humid gas with solids removed through an exit port; a heater configured to heat the hot, humid gas received from the exit port of the gas-solid separator; and a condenser configured to receive heated humid gas from the heater and to condense solids-free liquid therefrom. The thermal fan/compressor may comprise a plurality of nozzles with outlets positioned adjacent atomization apertures across which a solid-bearing liquid flows and through which gas exiting the nozzles passes.

JET TUBE FOR A TURBOMACHINE

A jet tube for a turbomachine having a tubular main part with an axis and delimiting an internal volume opening out at a first end forming an inlet and at a second end forming an outlet. The jet tube also having a nozzle with a first part radially passing through a wall of the main part. The first part has a first area located radially outside the wall and the internal volume, and a second area located radially inside the wall and the internal volume. The nozzle has a second portion extending axially from the second area of the first portion of the nozzle and towards the outlet. The nozzle has a channel passing through the first and second portions of the nozzle and opening into the internal volume at the free end of the second portion of the nozzle.

ACTUATOR FOR USE IN A SEPARATOR

An actuator for a separator for separating contaminants from a fluid stream which includes entrained contaminants. The actuator is arranged to move along an actuator axis to adjust an open cross-sectional area of at least one aperture of the separator, and comprises a flexible diaphragm, and a support assembly for the flexible diaphragm. The support assembly is movable along the actuator axis carrying the flexible diaphragm and has an upper support member mounted on a lower support member. A portion of the flexible diaphragm is located between the upper and lower support members. The lower support member comprises an axially extending support portion coupled to a radially extending support portion. The upper support member comprises a diaphragm anti-inversion feature coupled to a radially extending support portion. The diaphragm anti-inversion feature extends such that it axially overlaps at least part of the axially extending support portion of the lower support member.
