20220183236 · 2022-06-16 ·

Propagation of weeds is prevented in planting plants having stolons. The present invention provides a method for planting plants having stolons, the method including: a step of covering a part of a greening-target soil 10 with a first weed-proof sheet 20 having a rooting property; a step of planting seedlings 30 of the plants in a soil that is not covered with the first weed-proof sheet 20; and a step of covering the seedlings 30 and the soil having the seedlings 30 planted therein with a second weed-proof sheet 50 so that only one or more stolons 40 extending from the seedlings 30 are exposed on the first weed-proof sheet 20.

Ground mats for water distribution

The invention relates to a device for conducting water in a ground surface, comprising a nonwoven layer introduced into the ground (6), which nonwoven layer has at least one conduit strand (4) provided with passage openings (5) for conducting water. In order to create advantageous construction conditions, it is proposed that the nonwoven layer forms a grid (1) made of intersecting arrays of grid strands and comprises a nonwoven web (3) extending along the conduit strand (4), and that at least one array of grid strands formed of nonwoven strips (2) adjoins the nonwoven web (3).

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING AND GROWING VEGETATION IN ARID ENVIRONMENTS
20220159904 · 2022-05-26 ·

A method and apparatus for cultivating vegetation at an inhospitable location includes rooting immature vegetation in a mat combined with a super absorbent polymer (“SAP”) and, in embodiments, fertilizer, sand, and/or soil; providing a water reservoir below grade at the inhospitable location; placing the mat at the inhospitable location over the water reservoir; extending at least one wick from the mat to the water reservoir; and covering the mat with a perforated, transparent or semi-transparent cover. The wick can be infused with nutrients and/or fertilizer. Hollow tubes can extend downward from the mat to enable excess water to flow into the reservoir. The hollow tubes can surround the wicks. The transparent cover can be placed on or suspended above the mat. SAP, seeds, and/or fertilizer can be placed between mats in a stack. A water distribution system can be included for supplying additional water to the water reservoir.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IN-SITU AMELIORATIONREMEDIATION OF SALINE-ALKALI SOIL USING MICROALGAE
20230255154 · 2023-08-17 · ·

A system and method for in-situ amelioration of saline-alkali soil using microalgae. Sewage and microalgal seeds are pumped into an microalgae growth pond for growing microalgae, and online equipment is used for monitoring the level of nutrients in the pond. When the microalgae reach the stationary phase of their growth, the screen mesh is lifted to separate microalgae from liquid, so that they are conveniently harvested by scraping. The harvested microalgae are returned to the soil as a soil ameliorant.

Gas Barrier Resin Composition, Method for Producing Gas Barrier Resin Composition, and Molded Product

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to soilless growth media with light reflecting and light absorbing surfaces for indoor farming and methods of using the media to germinate seeds and develop plants. In some embodiments, the soilless growth media can be a fabric made from two webs that can be joined together with a tie-in yarn linking the light reflecting plant supporting surface web yarn and the light absorbing web base yarn together in the fabric. The soilless growth media in embodiments of the disclosure can be used to reduce evaporation from nutrient delivery systems and improve controlled environmental agriculture operating efficiency.

Soil-covering film, the use of a soil-covering film to protect crops against weeds, and a method for the protection of crops against weeds

A soil-covering film (10), which contains an air and moisture-permeable sheet, preferably a nonwoven sheet, containing biodegradable and/or compostable fibre (12) and, optionally, binding material (14), where the binding force between the fibres reversibly weakens due to the effect of moisture. The soil-covering film (10) may be used by, for example, laying out the soil-covering film (10) on surface of the soil (40); then the seeds (22) of the crop (20) are placed on the soil-covering film (10); the soil-covering film (10) is kept moist until the seeds (22) located on the surface grow roots (24) and the roots (24) penetrate the soil-covering film (10).

A method for planting crops that involves covering the planted seeds of the crop with an elongate sheet of mulch. The elongate sheet of mulch has lateral edges that determine its width. A combustible cord that is affixed to it between the lateral edges. The combustible cord may be formed within plies of the mulch or adhered thereto. The mulch is placed over the planted crop and held in place over the crop. This may be done by burying lateral edges of the mulch. When a user of the mulch wishes to remove the mulch, he will burn the combustible cord and that will separate the mulch along the cord.
