The present invention relates to a method for producing a multilayer film comprising aluminum, chromium, oxygen and nitrogen, in a vacuum coating chamber, the multilayer film comprising layers of type A and layers of type B deposited alternate one of each other, wherein during deposition of the multilayer film at least one target comprising aluminum and chromium is operated as cathode by means of a PVD technique and used in this manner as material source for supplying aluminum and chromium, and an oxygen gas flow and a nitrogen gas flow are introduced as reactive gases in the vacuum chamber for reacting with aluminum and chromium, thereby supplying oxygen and nitrogen for forming the multilayer film, characterized in that: The A layers are deposited as oxynitride layers of AlCrON by using nitrogen and oxygen as reactive gas at the same time, The B layers are deposited as nitride layers of AlCrN by reducing the oxygen gas flow and by increasing the nitrogen gas flow in order to use only nitrogen as reactive gas for the formation of the AlCrN layer, and wherein the relation between oxygen content and nitrogen content in the multilayer film correspond to a ratio in atomic percentage having a value between and including 1.8 and 4.
ELECTRODEPOSITED NICKEL-CHROMIUM ALLOY
A nickel-chromium (NiCr) alloy and a method for electrodepositing the NiCr alloy on a turbine engine component for dimensionally restoring the engine component are described. The engine component is restored by rebuilding wall thickness with the NiCr alloy including from 2 to 50 wt % chromium balanced with nickel. The turbine component coated with the NiCr alloy is heat-treated at a high temperature to homogenize composition of the alloy to mimic the base alloy and to restore materials lost during repair of the turbine component.

An objective of the invention to provide an alloy article that exhibits even better mechanical properties and/or even higher corrosion resistance than conventional high entropy articles without sacrificing the attractive properties thereof, a product formed of the alloy article, and a fluid machine having the product. An alloy article according to the invention has a predetermined chemical composition comprising: Co, Cr, Fe, Ni and Ti, each within a range of 5 atomic % or more and 35 atomic % or less; Mo within a range of more than 0 atomic % and less than 8 atomic %; an element with a larger atomic radius than the atomic radiuses of Co, Cr, Fe and Ni within a range of more than 0 atomic % and 4 atomic % or less; and a balance of inevitable impurities.
WEAR RESISTANT TURBINE BLADE TIP
A gas turbine engine includes: a turbine section including a casing extending circumferentially about a plurality of turbine blades and having at least one seal member coated with an abradable coating. At least one turbine blade has sides and a tip and at least one seal member is located adjacent to the tip of the at least one turbine blade. The tip of the at least one turbine blade has a wear resistant layer and an abrasive coating disposed on the wear resistant layer. The wear resistant layer has a thickness less than or equal to 10 mils (254 micrometers) and includes metal boride compounds.
WEAR RESISTANT AIRFOIL TIP
A gas turbine engine includes an engine static structure extending circumferentially about an engine centerline axis; a compressor section, a combustor section, and a turbine section within the engine static structure. At least one of the compressor section and the turbine section includes at least one airfoil and at least one seal member adjacent to the at least one airfoil. A tip of the at least one airfoil is metal having a wear resistant coating and the at least one seal member is coated with an abradable coating. The wear resistant coating is formed as a layer in a base metal surface of the airfoil, has a thickness less than or equal to 10 mils (254 micrometers) and includes metal boride compounds.
TURBINE PART MADE OF SUPERALLOY COMPRISING RHENIUM AND/OR RUTHENIUM AND ASSOCIATED MANUFACTURING METHOD
A turbine part, such as a turbine blade or a distributor fin, for example, including a substrate made of superalloy based on monocrystalline nickel, including rhenium and/or ruthenium, and having a -NisAI phase that is predominant by volume and a -Ni phase, the part also including a sublayer made of metal superalloy based on nickel covering the substrate, wherein the sublayer has a -NisAI phase that is predominant by volume and wherein the sublayer has an average atomic fraction of aluminium of between 0.15 and 0.25, of chromium of between 0.03 and 0.08, of platinum of between 0.01 and 0.05, of hafnium of less than 0.01 and of silicon of less than 0.01. A process for manufacturing a turbine part including a step of vacuum deposition of a sublayer made of a superalloy based on nickel having predominantly by volume a -NisAI phase, on a substrate made of superalloy based on nickel including rhenium and/or ruthenium.
METHODS FOR DEPOSITING COATINGS ON AEROSPACE COMPONENTS
Protective coatings on an aerospace component are provided. An aerospace component includes a surface containing nickel, nickel superalloy, aluminum, chromium, iron, titanium, hafnium, alloys thereof, or any combination thereof, and a coating disposed on the surface, where the coating contains a nanolaminate film stack having two or more pairs of a first deposited layer and a second deposited layer. The first deposited layer contains chromium oxide, chromium nitride, aluminum oxide, aluminum nitride, or any combination thereof, the second deposited layer contains aluminum oxide, aluminum nitride, silicon oxide, silicon nitride, silicon carbide, yttrium oxide, yttrium nitride, yttrium silicon nitride, hafnium oxide, hafnium nitride, hafnium silicide, hafnium silicate, titanium oxide, titanium nitride, titanium silicide, titanium silicate, or any combination thereof, and the first deposited layer and the second deposited layer have different compositions from each other.
