Booster system

A booster system includes: a cooling temperature regulating unit configured to regulate a temperature of an intermediate supercritical pressure liquid cooled and generated by a main cooling unit on upstream of a pump unit according to a flow rate of a supplied cooling medium; and a pressure detection unit configured to detect inlet pressure of the intermediate supercritical pressure liquid on an inlet side of the pump unit and detect outlet pressure of a target supercritical fluid on an outlet side of the pump unit. The cooling temperature regulating unit controls the flow rate of the cooling medium based on a pressure difference between the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure or a pressure ratio between the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure.

The present disclosure provides systems and methods useful in capture of one more moieties (e.g., carbon dioxide) from a gas stream (i.e., direct air capture). In various embodiments, the systems and methods can utilize at least a scrubbing unit, a regeneration unit, and an electrolysis unit whereby an alkali solution can be used to strip the moiety (e.g., carbon dioxide) from the gas stream, the removed moiety can be regenerated and optionally purified for capture or other use, and a formed salt can be subjected to electrolysis to recycle the alkali solution back to the scrubber for re-use with simultaneous production of one or more further chemicals.

Method for removing a foulant from a gas stream with minimal external refrigeration

A process for removing a foulant from a gas stream. The gas stream is cooled in a series of heat exchangers, causing a portion of the foulant to desublimate and become entrained in a cryogenic liquid. This foulant slurry stream is pressurized, cooled, and separated into a pressurized foulant solid stream and the cryogenic liquid stream. The pressurized foulant solid stream is melted to produce a liquid foulant stream. Heat exchange processes, both internal and external, are provided that close the heat balance of the process. In this manner, the foulant is removed from the gas stream.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATING A FLOW BACK FLUID EXITING A WELL SITE

The present invention relates to a method and system for treating a flow back fluid exiting a well site following stimulation of a subterranean formation. More specifically, the invention relates to processing the flow back fluid, and separating into a carbon dioxide rich stream and a carbon dioxide depleted stream, and continuing the separation until the carbon dioxide concentration in the flow back stream until the carbon dioxide concentration in the flow back gas diminishes to a point selected in a range of about 50-80 mol % in carbon dioxide concentration, after which the lower concentration carbon dioxide flow back stream continues to be separated into a carbon dioxide rich stream which is routed to waste or flare, and a hydrocarbon rich stream is formed.

GAS SEPARATION SYSTEM WITH AUTO-REFRIGERATION AND SELECTIVE RECYCLE FOR CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURE AND COMPRESSION
20200378680 · 2020-12-03 ·

A system and method for capturing and separating carbon dioxide from mixed gas streams. The gas stream is processed in a structure including a compression module comprising a plurality of compressors, intercoolers and inter-stage condensate separators. The flow path from the compression module includes a plurality of flow separators, gas stream splitters, heat exchangers and at least a first mixer and a first expander. The gas stream is sequentially compressed and cooled to form process condensate and separate it from the compressed gas stream. The gas stream is further dried and cooled to liquefy carbon dioxide and separate it from the non-condensable portion. Selective expansion of liquid carbon dioxide streams provides cooling for the system, and further energy efficiency is achieved by selective recycling of portions of gas streams, allowing for compact equipment and economical operation, while providing for high purity product streams of carbon dioxide.
