Preassembled structural impact panel
11002019 · 2021-05-11 ·

An impact resistant panel used to replace spandrel glass panels or aluminum panels in structures that uses an impact resistant interlayer to fuse two porcelain layers together. The panel of the present invention is a three-layered panel formed by fusing a first rolled porcelain layer, an impact resistant interlayer and a second rolled porcelain layer. The impact resistant interlayer is melted into the pores of the porcelain layers to create an integral porcelain panel that can be used as structural elements or small, medium, and large dimensions while having impact resistant qualities.

Active shooter shield system
10942011 · 2021-03-09 ·

Examples herein describe systems and methods for securing an opening and disorienting an active shooter. A command device can send a deployment command to a zone in a building. In response, canopies in the zone can deploy a roll-up door made of Kevlar that electromagnetically locks shut. The canopies can include blindingly bright lights and deafening sirens that disorient the shooter. The doors can block off rooms or other areas of a school where children can huddle safely until the shooter is apprehended. Canopies without doors can also be used at some openings to disorient the shooter.
