Liquid only lance injector
A lance injector assembly for an exhaust component includes: an exhaust conduit; a shaft configured to extend into the exhaust conduit and dispense reductant from a hydraulically-actuated valve; an actuator configured to operate the hydraulically-actuated valve; and a mounting system configured to couple the actuator and the shaft to the exhaust conduit. The mounting system prevents the actuator from directly contacting the exhaust conduit.
METHODS FOR DETECTING A DOSING ERROR
A method for detecting a dosing error of a reduction agent in a dosing module of an SCR catalytic converter system. The SCR catalytic converter system comprises the dosing module, which has a dosing valve and a flow valve as well as a delivery module with delivery pump. The SCR catalytic converter system, furthermore, has a return, in which a further flow valve is arranged. Said flow valve changes an effective cross-sectional area of the return. The method herein comprises the following steps: at the beginning, the dosing valve is closed (200). At a first pressure value (p.sub.1) in the system the delivery pump is switched off (201) and a measurement (202) of a first pressure rate (
Method for Checking Operability, Checking Device and Motor Vehicle
A method for checking operability of a first metering unit includes sending a control signal to a second metering unit to dispense a second quantity; comparing the quantity dispensed with the second quantity; sending a control signal to a second metering unit to introduce a third quantity; detecting the pressure drop caused by the introduction of the third quantity; sending a control signal to the first metering unit to introduce a first quantity; detecting the pressure drop caused by executing the control signal to introduce the first quantity; and ascertaining that the first metering unit is not functioning correctly if a difference between the pressure drop detected as a result of the execution of the control signal to introduce the first quantity and the pressure drop detected as a result of the execution of the control signal to introduce the third quantity is above a threshold.
FLASH BOILING INJECTION CONTROL
An exemplary vehicle exhaust system includes, among other things, a housing defining a fluid chamber and at least one pressure sensor positioned within the fluid chamber. The housing has a fluid inlet configured to receive fluid from a fluid supply and a fluid outlet. A heater heats fluid supplied from the fluid supply such that heated fluid can be injected into a vehicle exhaust component via the fluid outlet. A controller is configured to receive pressure data from the at least one pressure sensor and to determine optimal timing for dosing of the vehicle exhaust component based on the pressure data.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE OPERATION OF AN ENGINE SYSTEM IN A VEHICLE UPON ENGINE START
A method for controlling the operation of an engine system in a vehicle upon engine start. The engine system includes an engine and an exhaust aftertreatment system having a selective catalyst reduction, SCR, catalyst and a reductant dosing system for providing a reductant to the SCR catalyst. The method comprises: determining the temperature of the SCR catalyst; in response of determining that the temperature of the SCR catalyst is above a predetermined threshold, initiating pressurising of the reductant dosing system towards a predefined operating pressure; performing a preventive action for delaying engine start until the operating pressure of the reductant dosing system is reached.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DETECTING AN OBSTRUCTED PRESSURE LINE IN A DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM
A method and system for detecting whether a pressure line in a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) delivery system has an obstruction. The system includes an electronic control unit with an electronic processor that is configured to receive an unfiltered pressure signal from a pressure sensor; to electronically filter the unfiltered pressure signal to determine a dosing pressure signal; to determine an integrated value based on the dosing pressure signal; and to determine whether the pressure line is obstructed by comparing the integrated value with a predetermined threshold.
PROGNOSTIC ALERT STRATEGY FOR REDUCTANT PUMP IN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM FOR ENGINE
Operating an engine exhaust aftertreatment system includes receiving fluid pressure data of a reductant pump, determining a pump operating state, and comparing a pump health parameter to a prognostic pump failure criterion based upon the determining a pump operating state. Operating an engine exhaust aftertreatment system further includes outputting a pump health alert based upon a difference between the pump health parameter and the prognostic pump failure criterion. Related control logic is also disclosed.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION DEVICE FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE
An exhaust gas purification device (26) for a gas turbine engine (10) comprises a catalyst chamber (64, 96) defined in an exhaust gas passage (22), a reduction agent container (32) containing a solid material that releases a reduction agent gas effective for NOx reduction when heated, a heating device (36, 38) for heating the solid material contained in the reduction agent container, and a reduction agent gas supply passage (48) for supplying the reduction agent gas released from the solid material into the catalyst chamber.
Reagent doser diagnostic system and method
Systems and methods are disclosed for determining or diagnosing a reagent dosing system failure to provide sufficient reagent to an exhaust aftertreatment system that includes an SCR catalyst to satisfy a reagent dosing command.
Urea Injection System
A urea injection system comprises a fluid conveying apparatus used for extracting a urea solution from a urea tank, several nozzles indirectly connected to the fluid conveying apparatus, and a controller used for controlling the urea injection system. The urea injection system is adapted to process exhaust gas of a plurality of engines at the same time. The nozzles comprise a first nozzle used for injecting a urea solution to a first exhaust pipe of a first engine and a second nozzle used for injecting the urea solution to a second exhaust pipe of a second engine. A plurality of nozzles respectively corresponding to a plurality of engines is arranged in the urea injection system, so as to process exhaust gas of the plurality of engines at the same time by using only one urea injection system.
