Double row rolling elements are rollably arranged between the outer and inner raceway surfaces, via cages. A seal is mounted on one end of the outer member. The seal has side lips adapted to be in sliding contact with the wheel hub. The seal has three inclined side lips each extending radially outward from the seal body. The lips are adapted to be in sliding contact with the base of the wheel mounting flange. Interference of the side lips against the base of the wheel mounting flange is set so that the radially inner side lip has a smaller interference than that of the radially outer side lips, in order.

To provide a scheme that, when making a prediction in multilayer coding, takes into account the quality of the image in each layer and can adaptively determine in want manner to refer to the image of which layer. Provided is an image processing device provided with a prediction control unit that, on the basis of an indicator dependent on the image quality of a first layer image and a second layer image, sets the weighting when including a first layer pixel and a second layer pixel for predicting a pixel in the second layer that is encoded or decoded referring to the first layer.

Seal arrangement having a thrower ring for an anti-friction bearing

A seal arrangement (1) of an anti-friction bearing, which seal arrangement (1) is inserted between a first bearing part (2) and a second bearing part (4). The seal arrangement includes a seal (6) which is positioned on the rotationally fixed first bearing part by a support element (15) which is enclosed at least on one side by an elastic seal material (16), and which seal (6) includes at least one sealing lip (25, 26). A thrower ring (7), forming a collection chamber (13), of the seal arrangement is assigned to the second rotatable bearing part. To this end, a cylindrical portion (9) of the thrower ring is snapped in an end-side circumferential groove (11) by a flange (5) of the second rotatable bearing part. A radial leg (12) of the thrower ring extends such that it maintains a sealing gap (14) to the seat. Moreover, the seal of the seal arrangement includes elastic sealing lips which are supported on the second bearing part such that they are offset with respect to the thrower ring.

There is provided a rolling bearing including: inner and outer members, rolling elements in a raceway space, flexible annular sealing members which close openings at both ends of the raceway space, and annular metal shield members. Each sealing member is formed in three-dimensional shape such that the sealing member in a natural state is convex inwardly between outer and inner circumferential edge portions and the inner circumferential edge portion is elastically in surface contact with the outer surface of the inner member when the sealing member is fitted to the outer member. Each metal shield member is fixed to the outer member in a state that the outer circumferential edge portion of each sealing member is sandwiched between the metal shield member and the outer member. Each metal shield member covers part of each sealing member without contacting the inner member.

Wheel bearing apparatus for a vehicle

A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member, an inner member, double row rolling elements, and seals. At least one seal of the seals has a metal core press-formed from steel sheet with a cylindrical fitting portion. A radial portion extends radially inward from the end of the fitting portion. A sealing member with a plurality of sealing lips is integrally adhered to the fitting portion of the metal core. Bearing grease is contained within the bearing. Sealing grease is applied to the sealing lips. Both the bearing grease and the sealing grease use the same thickener and the worked penetration of 350 or less. The kinematic viscosity of the base oil of the sealing grease at 40 C. is set to 70% or less of the kinematic viscosity of the base oil of the bearing grease at 40 C.

Bearing assembly with outboard bearing support cartridge

A bearing support assembly adapted for interchangeably supporting a bearing in an inboard configuration and an outboard configuration is provided. The assembly may include a universal end plate to which either of a first bearing support cartridge that is designed for supporting the bearing in the outboard configuration or a second bearing support cartridge that is designed for supporting the bearing in the inboard configuration may be mounted. The first and second bearing support cartridges may include mounting holes that match mounting holes in the end plate thereby permitting the cartridges to be interchangeably mounted to the end plate. This can eliminate the need to replace the end plate when switching between an inboard bearing configuration and an outboard bearing configuration, or vice versa. The bearing support assembly may also include a spacer adapted for axially locating an inner sleeve of a multi-component seal.
