A handrail installation device, including a first arm removably connected to at least a portion of a stair tread, a second arm pivotally disposed at a first end on at least a portion of the first arm to rotate from retracted in parallel with the first arm in a first position to at least partially extended away from the first arm in a second position, and rotate from extended away from the first arm in the second position to retracted in parallel with the first arm in the first position, and a bubble level disposed on at least a portion of the second arm to identify a level surface based on a position of at least one of the first arm and the second arm.

A roof square for marking rafters comprising a right angle triangular body with a marking blade pivotally mounted adjacent the right angle. Either side of the square adjacent the right angle is held against the stock to be marked, and the blade used to mark either a plumb cut or a foot cut. The blade retracts to allow marks to be made at a measured depth. The tool can also be used as a conventional square to make 90 and 45 degree marks.

A square gauge apparatus configured for being selectively and removably mounted on a leg of a carpenter's square has a ledge having a ledge first surface and an opposite ledge second surface, the ledge first and second surfaces being parallel and offset, a first abutment extending from the ledge and having a first abutment front surface that is perpendicular to the ledge first surface, a second abutment extending from the ledge opposite the first abutment and having a second abutment front surface that is perpendicular to the ledge second surface and parallel to and coplanar with the first abutment front surface, and a slot formed adjacent to the ledge between the first and second abutments, the slot having a slot end surface that is parallel to and coplanar with the first and second abutment front surfaces.

A marking and cutting template for sheet materials includes a main body having a face side and a back side opposing the face side. The main body is configured to be coupled to a portion of a T-square. A template body rotatably mounted in the main body includes at least one hole extending through the template body with the hole(s) being accessible at the face side and back side of the main body. A locking mechanism coupled to the main body can engage the template body such that the template body is prevented from rotating relative to the main body.

A square device and method of operation is disclosed. An example square device includes a first leg having a substantially same size height as width, and a second leg having a substantially same size height as width, the first leg and the second leg joined to form a substantially L-shape. The example square device also includes a substantially V-shaped groove formed all along an outward facing side of the first leg and the second leg, and a substantially flat clamping surface formed all along an inward facing side of the first leg and the second leg. When a first working article is received in the V-shaped groove formed along the first leg, and a second working article is received in the V-shaped groove formed along the second leg, the first working article is held in a substantially perpendicular orientation relative to the second working article.

Applicant has disclosed a chamfer gage with interchangeable anvil assemblies which can measure the diameter of chamfered holes and the chamfer angle (up to 135°). In the preferred embodiment, the chamfer gage comprises: an indicator housing; a compression fitting, attached to the housing, for securing an indicator spindle for movement inside the housing; and an interchangeable anvil assembly, having an anvil body with a depressible anvil or plunger inside, which can be detachably connected to the indicator housing by a threaded thumb ring rotatably mounted on the housing. Another interchangeable anvil assembly can be swapped within thirty seconds to measure the chamfer of a different hole size.

Applicant has disclosed a chamfer gage with interchangeable anvil assemblies which can measure the diameter of chamfered holes and the chamfer angle (up to 135°). In the preferred embodiment, the chamfer gage comprises: an indicator housing; a compression fitting, attached to the housing, for securing an indicator spindle for movement inside the housing; and an interchangeable anvil assembly, having an anvil body with a depressible anvil or plunger inside, which can be detachably connected to the indicator housing by a threaded thumb ring rotatably mounted on the housing. A saw angle gage is a square or rectangular shaped platform with two (2) electrical contacts attached to one of the four sides of the platform. A battery and a light are mounted to the platform and wired together with the two (2) electrical contacts forming an isolated electrical circuit that is open between the two (2) electrical contacts. When both of the electrical contacts touch a current conducting object, the light will illuminate. When both electrical contacts touch a current conducting object and the full length of one of the adjacent sides of the platform touches a different object, the light will illuminate, indicating a right-angle relationship between the objects. When both electrical contacts touch a current conducting object and the full length of the opposite side of the platform touches a different object, the light will illuminate, indicating a parallel relationship between the objects.

One or more clamping aid tools for mounting to various squares and straight edges, including carpenter squares, framing squares, speed squares or the like, and various straight edges and rulers for easily and accurately positioning various objects, either flat and/or round, magnetic or not. The clamping aid tools can secure these squares and straight edges to various objects while they are being fitted, secured and/or welded together.

An inspection and measurement device includes a body defining a first planar face within a first bounded area, a first reference feature disposed on the first planar face within the first bounded area and corresponding with a first measurable parameter for structural inspection, and a second reference feature disposed on the first planar face within the first bounded area and corresponding with a second measurable parameter for structural inspection. The first and second reference features are positioned within the first bounded area for placement adjacent an element bearing the respective one of the first and second measurable parameters, and the first and second reference features overlap within the first bounded area in at least one direction.
