The controller is configured to repeatedly receive signals over time via the input port representative of the one or more performance parameters of the industrial process and to generate a plurality of snapshots, wherein each snapshot includes a graphical representation of the one or more performance parameters of the industrial process at a corresponding time. The controller is configured to generate an animatable heat map including two or more of the plurality of snapshots arranged temporally and to display the animatable heat map on the display.

A data storage device restoring method is provided, which is adapted to a data storage device. The data storage device includes an SSD controller, a power management circuit, a non-volatile memory, and a reset circuit. The data storage device restoring method includes: the power management circuit determines whether a normal signal from the SSD controller is received within a predetermined time; if not, the power management circuit resupplies power to the data storage device but stops supplying power to the non-volatile memory, thereby the SSD controller stays in a read-only memory mode to automatically execute the data storage device restoring process.

Method of ensuring confidentiality and integrity of stored data and metadata in an untrusted environment

A system and method for storing and recovering a computer file. The method includes calculating fingerprint data of the file, separating the file into a plurality of data sub-files each having the same size and a single data sub-file having a smaller size than the other data sub-files, and attaching file metadata to the single data sub-file or as a metadata sub-file. The method also includes padding the single data sub-file including the metadata so that it is the same size as the plurality of data sub-files or the metadata sub-file so that it is the same size as the plurality of data sub-files, adding a header to each data sub-file that includes information about the sub-file, assigning a unique filename to each data sub-file, encrypting each data sub-file, and storing each data sub-file as separate files under their unique filename.

Failover management for batch jobs

Computer-implemented methods, computer program products, and computer systems are provided. A method includes generating a running result matrix for a plurality of batch jobs, indicating corresponding running results for respective processing actions in batch jobs of the plurality of batch jobs. The method further includes obtaining an internal dependency matrix for the plurality of batch jobs, indicating corresponding dependencies between respective processing actions within a batch job of the plurality of batch jobs. The method further includes calculating a recovery matrix for the plurality of batch jobs based, at least in part, on the running result matrix and the internal dependency matrix, the recovery matrix indicating corresponding recovery actions for respective processing actions in batch jobs of the plurality of batch jobs. The method further includes executing failover management for one or more batch jobs based, at least in part, on the calculated recovery matrix.

Live migration of virtual devices in a scalable input/output (I/O) virtualization (S-IOV) architecture

Examples include a method of live migrating a virtual device by creating a virtual device in a virtual machine, creating first and second interfaces for the virtual device, transferring data over the first interface, detecting a disconnection of the virtual device from the virtual machine, switching data transfers for the virtual device from the first interface to the second interface, detecting a reconnection of the virtual device to the virtual machine, and switching data transfers for the virtual device from the second interface to the first interface.

Dynamic updating of query result displays

Described are methods, systems and computer readable media for dynamic updating of query result displays.

Maintaining Data Integrity Through Power Loss with Operating System Control

A storage controller has an operating system (OS) and power control firmware configured to manage use of battery power during a power outage event. The OS specifies to the power control firmware first and second sets of physical components that should be shed by power control firmware during a two-phase vault process. Upon a power failure, the power control firmware turns off power to the first set of physical components and notifies the OS of the power failure. The OS determines whether to abort or continue the vault process. If the OS aborts the vault process, the power control firmware restores power to the first set of physical components. If the OS continues the vault process, the power control firmware turns off power to the second set of physical components, the OS saves application state, and moves all data from volatile memory to persistent memory.

System and method for hybrid kernel- and user-space incremental and full checkpointing

A system includes a multi-process application that runs. A multi-process application runs on primary hosts and is checkpointed by a checkpointer comprised of at least one of a kernel-mode checkpointer module and one or more user-space interceptors providing at least one of barrier synchronization, checkpointing thread, resource flushing, and an application virtualization space. Checkpoints may be written to storage and the application restored from said stored checkpoint at a later time. Checkpointing may be incremental using Page Table Entry (PTE) pages and Virtual Memory Areas (VMA) information. Checkpointing is transparent to the application and requires no modification to the application, operating system, networking stack or libraries. In an alternate embodiment the kernel-mode checkpointer is built into the kernel.

According to the embodiments, an external storage device switches to an interface controller for supporting only a read operation of nonvolatile memory when a shift condition for shifting to a read only mode is met. A host device switches to an interface driver for supporting only the read operation of the nonvolatile memory when determining to recognize as read only memory based on information acquired from the external storage device.
