Methods for providing notifications for follow-up actions in response to events detected by an automation system, and systems and devices related thereto
An automation system may include a control panel monitoring one more automation system components. When an event is detected at an automation system component, the control panel may automatically access a local or remote data source and identify procedures to be implemented in response to the event. The procedures may include follow-up actions and procedures specific to a particular dealer of the automation system. Dealer-specific procedures may then be displayed or otherwise communicated by the control panel to alert the user of what actions to take or to expect.
Systems enabling testing of fire control panels together with remote control and providing text-to-speech of event data
A system for enabling one person testing and remote control of a fire control panel and generating text-to-speech audio during a walkthrough test of fire alarm system is disclosed. Typically, a technician interacts with a simulated interface displayed on the display of the mobile computing device. In response, commands are generated and sent to the control panel to cause the control panel to perform requested actions. The control panel then sends updated control panel user interface displayed information to the mobile computing device reflecting technician entered commands. Testing of the detection devices on the fire control panel generates event data that is sent to the mobile computing device, which receives the event data and enables a technician to select filtering options. The event data are then parsed to identify keywords and text-to-speech audio is generated for the filtered event data.

Active shooter and environment detection
A sensor device to detect an audio wave and determine whether the audio wave is a gunshot is provided. The sensor device may include microphone, analog-to-digital converter (ADC), microcontroller, and switch. The ADC may convert audio waves received from microphone into a digital signal. The microcontroller connected to the ADC may compare the digital signal of the audio waves with predetermined audio wave to determine whether the audio waves meet audio threshold parameters. The switch operatively connected to the microcontroller may transmit a trip signal to a predetermined emergency management and response system upon the microcontroller determining that the audio waves meet the audio threshold parameters. A gunshot detection system including the sensor device and a method of detecting a gunshot are also provided.
NOVEL BUILDING AUTOMATION
The invention relates to a system for building automation including at least one smoke and/or fire detector, at least one adapter that is coupleable with the smoke or fire detector; and one or plural functional units which are connected or connectable with the adapter. The building also relates to a building automation method.

System and method for using alarm system zones for remote or mobile objects
An alarm system for monitoring a local premises and multiple remote objects is described. The system includes sensors in the local premises, an alarm panel connected to the sensors in the local premises, and remote objects having alarm systems in communication with the alarm panel. The remote objects are assigned a zone in the alarm panel to represent the remote object, such that an alarm condition at the remote object is reported as an alarm condition in the assigned zone.

Systems and methods for processing emergency alert notifications
In some embodiments, methods and systems are provided for managing emergency notifications and incident reports at a commercial facility. A graphical interface enables a worker associated with a facility to input information regarding an ongoing/impending emergency event, e.g., Active Threat, Acts of Violence, Fire/Explosion, Injury, Power Failure, Missing Child, Severe Weather, Robbery, Hazmat, Bomb Threat, Covid-19, Store Closure, Special Events etc. This information is processed via an analytical engine that evaluates the entered information in view of various business rules in order to identify the appropriate workers to notify, and generates and transmits the notifications to the employees determined to be suitable for receiving a notification. In response to the generation of the emergency notification, an incident report engine evaluates the entered emergency, and automatically generates an incident report, which may be later accessed and/or modified by workers having a suitable employee access level.
SECURITY SYSTEM WITH SHIELDED DEVICES
The shielding status of a security system may be determined based on shielding statuses of individual devices in the security system. The shielding status of each individual device in the security system may be determined based on whether it is in a secured state and is properly functioning. The shielding status of the security system may be determined based on equally or unequally weighted shielding statuses of the individual devices. The shielding status of the security system may be transmitted to a mobile device carried by a user who is outside of the monitored environment. The shielding status of the security system may also be transmitted to the security monitoring company, the device vendor, or the homeowner insurance carrier, which may advertise products or services or provide incentives to the user based on the shielding status of the security system.
