An interference image acquisition apparatus includes a light source, a beam splitter, a second reflection mirror, an imager, and a first reflection mirror. A cell is placed on one side of a transparent material, and the first reflection mirror is placed on the other side of the transparent material. In a two-beam interferometer, an optical path difference between an optical path length of a first light beam reflected by the first reflection mirror and an optical path length of a second light beam reflected by the second reflection mirror is set to a coherence length of light output from the light source or less. The imager acquires an interference image in a state in which the cell is placed at a position conjugate to an imaging plane in a first optical system between the imaging plane and the first reflection mirror.

An imaging apparatus includes: a diffuse-reflector which covers an imaging space on a pathway that a human passes through, from at least a side out of both sides of the pathway, and includes a reflector which diffusely reflects a sub-terahertz wave; a light source which emits a sub-terahertz wave onto the reflector; and a detector which receives a reflected wave of the sub-terahertz wave which has been emitted from the light source, diffusely reflected by the reflector, and reflected by the human, and detects an intensity of the reflected wave received. The diffuse-reflector includes a visible light transmissive area which transmits visible light.

A portable apparatus for analyzing a plant specimen. A housing assembly defines a sensing volume and controls entry of ambient light into the sensing volume when the housing is closed. An image sensor senses light from the at least one light emitter that has been incident on the plant specimen. A processor analyzes data obtained from the light sensor to assess one or more properties of the plant specimen. There may be more than one light emitter, e.g., a halogen lamp and LED array, and the apparatus may acquire images under more than one lighting condition. The apparatus may include a mechanism for moving the plant specimen relative to the optical path to take images at multiple regions of interest on the specimen.
