A utility sensor module includes one or more sensors, a communication link, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor is configured to broadcast an advertisement signal associated with a communication protocol for a first transmission time. The advertisement signal is configured to cause an external device to transmit a response message. The electronic processor is further configured to determine whether the response message is received within a predetermined time period, and in response to determining that the response message was not received within the predetermined time period, operating in a modified sleep mode. Operating in the modified sleep mode includes modifying the operation of the communication interface to broadcast the advertisement signal at a periodic interval, such that the advertisement signal is only broadcast at the periodic interval for a second transmission time.

Systems and methods for holistic low carbon intensity fuel production

Systems and methods to provide low carbon intensity (CI) transportation fuels through one or more targeted reductions of carbon emissions based upon an analysis of carbon emissions associated with a combination of various options for feedstock procurement, feedstock refining, processing, or transformation, and fuel product distribution pathways to end users. Such options are selected to maintain the total CI (carbon emissions per unit energy) of the transportation fuel below a pre-selected threshold that defines an upper limit of CI for the transportation fuel.

GAS LEAK QUANTIZATION SYSTEM

A gas leak detection system that combines sensor units having an array of sensors that detect natural gas and the volatile organic compounds and variable atmospheric conditions that confound existing gas leak detection methods, a specially designed sensor housing that limits the variability of those atmospheric conditions, and a machine learning-enabled process that uses the wide array of sensor data to differentiate between natural gas leaks and other confounding factors. Multiple low-cost sensor units can be used to monitor gas concentrations at multiple locations across a site (e.g., a well pad or other oil or natural gas facility), enabling the gas leak detection system to model gas leak emission rates in two- or three-dimensional space to reveal the most likely origin of the gas leak.

Method for regulating a gas mixture by using a gas sensor and a gas mixture sensor

A method for regulating a gas mixture formed from a gas and a fuel gas in a fuel gas-operated heating appliance, wherein the gas mixture is created by providing and mixing a gas quantity by way of a first control element and a fuel gas quantity by way of a second control element, wherein a microthermal gas sensor and a gas mixture sensor are used and sensor signals are relayed to a controller, and wherein upon change in the detected sensor signal [of the] gas sensor the newly detected sensor signal of the gas sensor is compared to reference values which have been measured in the laboratory and saved in a table of values in the controller and from this a target value of the sensor signal of the gas mixture sensor is determined without a mixture ratio of the gas mixture composed of fuel gas and gas being changed.

The apparatus comprising an electrochemical sensor comprising a fuel flow channel configured to receive a plurality of input fuels at a plurality of locations along the fuel flow channel. The fuel flow channel configured to supply the plurality of input fuels to an anode of the electrochemical sensor and an electrolyte configured to transmit ionised input fuels from the anode to a cathode of the electrochemical sensor. A control system connected to the electrochemical sensor where the anode and/or the cathode is divided into a plurality of segments and the control system is configured to measure the current in each of the plurality of segments and determine the current density of each of the plurality of segments.

MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR DETERMINING THE GROSS OR NET CALORIFIC VALUE OF A HYDROCARBON-CONTAINING FUEL GAS
20220065790 · 2022-03-03 · ·

The gross or net calorific value of a hydrocarbon-containing fuel gas is determined by using a Raman photometer. A Raman radiation obtained following interaction of laser light with the fuel gas is limited by a bandpass filter to a wavenumber range of the C—H stretching vibrations of the hydrocarbons contained in the fuel gas around 2900 cm.sup.−1 and is supplied to a photomultiplier and integratively detected by the photomultiplier. The gross or net calorific value is determined from the output signal of the photomultiplier.
