A brain measurement apparatus configured to generate an MR image and a brain's magnetic field distribution of a subject includes: an MRI module having a transmission coil configured to transmit a transmission pulse toward the subject and a detection coil configured to detect a nuclear magnetic resonance signal generated in the subject by the transmission pulse; an optically pumped magnetometer configured to detect a brain's magnetic field of the subject; a generator configured to generate the MR image based on the nuclear magnetic resonance signal detected by the detection coil and generating the brain's magnetic field distribution based on the brain's magnetic field detected by the optically pumped magnetometer; a marker displayed on the MR image generated by the generator; and a helmet-type frame to which the detection coil, the optically pumped magnetometer, and the marker are attached and which is attached to a head of the subject.

In various embodiments, a device comprises: a single crystal diamond having a plurality of NV centers, the single crystal diamond configured to be disposed adjacent to a magnetic field-generating article, and configured to generate a fluorescent signal in response to being illuminated by a light source; a coherent light source configured to generate a light beam directed at the single crystal diamond; a microwave (MW) radiation source configured to irradiate the single crystal diamond with a MW signal; a magnetic field source configured to apply a bias magnetic field to the single crystal diamond; a photosensor configured to collect the fluorescent signal generated by the single crystal diamond; and a computing node operatively coupled to each of the coherent light source, the MW radiation source, the magnetic field source, and the photosensor.

A system for imaging, including a source of coherent light; a polarization state generator for generating polarized optical photons from the light originating in the source of coherent light; a sample environment; a polarization state analyzer for permitting photons having a desired polarization to interact with a detector; and an imaging unit for generating an image based on the interactions of the photons with the detector. The sample environment includes a plurality of electromagnets, each connected to one or more power supply components; and a controller, connected to the electromagnets and including software for generating and controlling a desired magnetic field created by each of the electromagnets in concert with each other.
MEASUREMENT APPARATUS AND MEASUREMENT METHOD
The magnetic resonance member 1 is a member that is arranged in a measurement target AC physical field, and in which a quantum operation can be performed in a specific quantum system. The coil 2 and the high frequency power supply 3 apply a magnetic field of a microwave to the magnetic resonance member 1. The irradiating device 4 irradiates the magnetic resonance member 1 with light, and the detecting device 5 detects from the magnetic resonance member 1 a physical phenomenon corresponding to the measurement target AC physical field. Further, the measurement control unit 21 performs the DC physical field measurement sequence a predetermined plural times, and in each of the plural times of the DC physical field measurement sequence, determines a detection value of the physical phenomenon detected by the detecting device 5.
The calculation unit 22 calculates a measurement result for a specific time span of the measurement target AC physical field on the basis of the detection values corresponding to the plural times of the DC physical field measurement sequence.

A magnetic field sensor for a medical device, the magnetic sensor assembly comprising a substrate having a plurality of planar sections, wherein adjacent planar sections are joined by a transition section, and wherein the planar sections are arranged in a substantially C-shaped arrangement such that an inner surface of the magnetic field sensor is concave, and wherein the plurality of planar sections includes a first planar section oriented in a first plane and a second planar section oriented in a second plane orthogonal to the first plane. A first magneto-resistive (MR) sensor is mounted to the first planar section and defining a first axis of sensitivity, and a second MR sensor is mounted to the second planar section and defining a second axis of sensitivity that is orthogonal to the first axis of sensitivity.
