Dock pile lighting system with elastic lighting source
A lighting system, having a base cone assembly, a base plate that mounts onto a dock pile, and an electrical system having at least one adjustable diameter lighting source. The present invention further has a tip cone mounted onto the base cone assembly. The tip cone has at least one light slot or clear section to permit light to emit there through. The tip cone and the base cone assembly are apex shaped. Extending from the tip cone is a mast bolt that secures to the base plate. The at least one adjustable diameter lighting source has at least one LED source and regulator. The at least one adjustable diameter lighting source emits radial and/or downward lighting onto the dock pile.
Light source for a surgical microscope
A light source for a surgical microscope includes a laser light source, first and second scattering elements defining first and second planes, respectively, and a collector optical device arranged between the first and second scattering elements with a focal length and a focus in the first plane. The laser light is focused on a first beam cross section with a first dimension in the first plane. The scattered beam emanating from the first scattering element is imaged at infinity with a first numerical aperture and produces a second beam cross section with a second dimension in the second plane. The second scattering element emits a beam of illumination light with a second numerical aperture at each point of the beam cross section in the second plane. The illumination light emanating from the second scattering element forms an illuminated field imageable into an object plane by an illumination optical device.
IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE
An image display device with which it is possible to visually recognize an image while securing the see-through property regardless of eye movements and changes in interpupillary distance, with which it is possible to display a large-size image with high quality, and which is small, has excellent wearability, and has an excellent external appearance.
Illumination module having light diffusing fiber
An illumination module includes a light source and a light diffusion fiber coupled to the light source. The light diffusion fiber defines a plurality of indent cuts at an outer sidewall thereof. An arrangement density of the indent cuts gradually decreases along a direction away from the light source.
MICROSCOPE AND METHOD FOR OPTICALLY EXAMINING AND/OR MANIPULATING A MICROSCOPIC SAMPLE
A method for optically examining or manipulating a microscopic sample includes positioning the sample in front of a lens which is arranged both in an observation beam path and in an illumination beam path of a microscope which has a main beam splitter which separates the paths. An illumination device is selected depending on the type of sample or examination, or a manipulation of the sample to be carried out. The selected illumination device is coupled in a predefined desired position to a mechanical coupling interface of the microscope. An illumination light from the selected illumination device is directed along the illumination beam path to the main beam splitter and from there to the lens and through the lens onto the sample. No optical component for imaging, focusing and/or defocusing is arranged on a light path of the illumination light between the optical apparatus and the lens.
Interactive Display Device
The invention provides a bathroom fixture in the form of an electronic mirror with a touchlessly operated fluid dispenser. The device provides visual cues to assist in the touchless operation thereof.
COMPACT DIGITAL HOLOGRAPHIC MICROSCOPE FOR PLANETARY IMAGING OR ENDOSCOPY
In situ investigation of microbial life in extreme environments can be carried out with microscopes capable of imaging 3-dimensional volumes and tracking particle motion. A lensless digital holographic microscope is disclosed that provides roughly 1.5 micron resolution in a compact, robust package suitable for remote deployment. High resolution is achieved by generating high numerical-aperture input beams with radial gradient-index rod lenses. The ability to detect and track prokaryotes was explored using bacterial strains of two different sizes. In the larger strain, a variety of motions were seen, while the smaller strain was used to demonstrate a detection capability down to micron scales.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT OF DISPERSED OBJECTS USING FLUORESCENT AND NON-FLUORESCENT IMAGING WITH LASER
Measuring devices and methods are described for generating microscopic fluorescence and excitation light images of dispersed objects in liquid or gas, and for analyzing the images to determine the volume fractions of dispersed objects and distinguish different types of objects by comparing the images.
Flame retardant light diffusing fiber
This disclosure is directed to lighting diffusing fibers (LDFs) having a flame retardant coating thereon. The LDFs comprise a glass RAL fiber core having a primary polymer coating of a clear, colorless polymeric material having an index of refraction less than that of the glass fiber core and a flame retardant coating applied over the primary coating. The flame retardant coating consist of approximately 35-85 wt. % UV curable polymer forming monomers and 15-65 wt. % of an inorganic, halogen free filler, along with at least one photoinitiator and an antioxidant. In an embodiment phosphor-containing polymer layer can be applied between the primary coating and the flame retardant coating. In another embodiment the phosphor can be added to the flame retardant coating.
Illuminating devices with color stable thermoplastic light transmitting articles
Illuminating devices are disclosed having plastic light-transmitting article(s) formed from a thermoplastic composition including a polycarbonate having repeating structural carbonate units according to the formula: ##STR00001##
in which at least 60 percent of the total number of R.sup.1 groups contain aromatic moieties and the balance thereof are aliphatic, alicyclic, or aromatic. The composition also includes an epoxy additive having at least two epoxy groups per molecule and a phenolic diphosphite derived from pentaerythritol. The thermoplastic composition exhibits a dE (2000 hrs.) value of less than 1.5 after 2000 hours of heat aging at 130° C., measured according ISO 11664-4:2008(E)/CIE S 014-4/E:2007 using CIE illuminant D65 and a 2.5 mm thick molded plaque of the thermoplastic composition.
