HYPER-CONVERGED INFRASTRUCTURE (HCI) PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT WITH SMARTNIC-BASED HARDWARE SIMULATION

A platform development system and method in which configuration information for an information handling resource type, e.g., a network interface card, is obtained by accessing a first instance of the resource type. The configuration information includes one or more fixed elements and a corresponding number of variable elements. Configuration information may include attribute-value pairs in which the attribute field of each pair is the fixed part of the configuration information and the corresponding value field is the variable part. A simulation policy, indicative of the fixed part of the configuration information, may then be defined for the resource type of interest. The simulation policy, in conjunction with user-specified values for the variable part of the configuration information, may define configuration information for a second instance of the resource type. A management server simulator may then simulate the second instance of the resource type based on the applicable configuration information.

An apparatus includes a serial bus, and a controller configured to represent a series of signaling state of physical general-purpose input/output (GPIO) in a batch that comprises a sequence of virtual GPIO messages and control messages, generate a first header that includes timing information configured to control timing of execution of the batch, transmit the first header over a communication link, and transmit the batch over the communication link.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FACILITATING DATA-DRIVEN INTELLIGENT NETWORK WITH INGRESS PORT INJECTION LIMITS

Data-driven intelligent networking systems and methods are provided. The system can accommodate dynamic traffic while applying injection limits to different traffic classes at an ingress edge port. The system can maintain state information of individual packet flows, which can be set up or released dynamically based on injected data. Each flow can be provided with a flow-specific input queue upon arriving at a switch. Packets of a respective flow can be acknowledged after reaching the egress point of the network, and the acknowledgement packets can be sent back to the ingress point of the flow along the same data path. Furthermore, an edge switch can dynamically allocate the ingress port bandwidth among the traffic classes that are active at a given moment.

A system may include multiple electronic devices and multiple hardware transceivers. The multiple electronic devices may be coupled to each other via an interface network, and may include multiple chiplets. The multiple hardware transceivers, with at least one transceiver included in or coupled to a respective electronic device of the multiple electronic devices, may each be configured to receive data packets from a source device. The data packets may each include a path field including path information indicating a path to a destination device and a bridge-type field including bridge-type information indicating a type of the path information in the path field. The source device and the destination device may each include a chiplet. The multiple hardware transceivers may each be further configured to transmit the received data packets to the destination device using the path information and the bridge-type information of each received data packet.

Provided are Universal Serial Bus (USB) wireless network card configuration methods, a host, a USB wireless network card and a communication system. A host enters a configuration mode after connecting with a USB wireless network card, acquires, in the configuration mode, configured interface combination information including each function interface configured by a user, and then sends the configured interface combination information to the USB wireless network card.

Facilitating routing by selectively aggregating contiguous data units

A method for facilitation of aggregation of contiguous data packets, such as contiguous I/O adapter stores, is disclosed. Commensurate with receiving data packets to be written to a memory, multiple contiguous data units of the data packets are aggregated into an aggregated data block. The aggregated data block is validated for writing to memory responsive to either the aggregated data block reaching a size which with inclusion of a next contiguous data unit in the aggregated data block would result in the aggregated data block exceeding a configurable size limit, or a next data unit of the plurality of data units to be written to memory being non-contiguous with the multiple contiguous data units.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FACILITATING EFFICIENT PACKET FORWARDING IN A NETWORK INTERFACE CONTROLLER (NIC)

A network interface controller (NIC) capable of efficient packet forwarding is provided. The NIC can be equipped with a host interface, a packet generation logic block, and a forwarding logic block. During operation, the packet generation logic block can obtain, via the host interface, a message from the host device and for a remote device. The packet generation logic block may generate a plurality of packets for the remote device from the message. The forwarding logic block can then send a first subset of packets of the plurality of packets based on ordered delivery. If a first condition is met, the forwarding logic block can send a second subset of packets of the plurality of packets based on unordered delivery. Furthermore, if a second condition is met, the forwarding logic block can send a third subset of packets of the plurality of packets based on ordered delivery.
