A multimodality phantom apparatus includes a housing and a system of materials disposed within the housing. The system of material includes a first amount of abase material, a second amount of glass microspheres, a third amount of CaCO.sub.3, a fourth amount of gadolinium contrast and a fifth amount of agarose. The housing may include a plurality of compartments and at least one slot. The system of materials may be disposed within at least one compartment. The slot may be used to receive a dosimeter.

A thermally representative phantom mammalian manikin assembly is provided. The assembly can include a cover portion representative of mammalian tissue partially enclosing a thermal cavity having a thermally representative material therein. The cover portion can have an opening with a cap extending across the opening and configured to further enclose the thermal cavity. The cap can have an aperture extending therethrough to receive a device extending through the aperture and into the thermally representative material within the thermal cavity. The device can be a thermocouple configured to measure a temperature of the thermally representative material. In assemblies representing mammalian limbs, the assembly can further include a second thermal cavity representing an additional portion of the limb, e.g., thermally representative upper and lower leg cavities.

A respiratory gating phantom device includes a first airbag, a second airbag, a first catheter, a second catheter, a fixture, and an air pressure gating device. The first catheter and the second catheter are respectively installed in the first airbag and the second airbag. The fixture is provided with a phantom tumor and adjustably installed in the first catheter or the second catheter, thereby installing the phantom tumor in the first catheter or the second catheter. The air pressure gating device, connected to the first airbag and the second airbag, inflates and deflates the first airbag and the second airbag to simulate breathing. The first catheter and the second catheter respectively move along three-dimensional direction and two-dimensional direction in response to motions of the first airbag and the second airbag.

The present invention describes a method for simulation of a magnetic resonance (MR) scanner in an MRI simulator, said method comprising—input of data parameters into a web interface of the MRI simulator, wherein the input of data parameters is at least a pulse sequence and an anatomical model;—connection of the web interface with a cloud-based simulator engine of the MRI simulator for transfer of data parameters to the cloud-based simulator engine, said method involving—importing a pulse sequence calculation model;—setting input data; and—performing a slice selection in an obtained image in the web interface; said method also involving—recalculation of the data parameters for the provision of one or more simulated MR signals, said recalculation being performed in the loud, and wherein the method also comprises—reconstruction of an MR image based on said one or more simulated MR signals, said econstruction of an MR image being performed in the cloud; and—sending the MR image to the web interface.

A surgical simulator and a simulation method are disclosed. The surgical simulator includes a blood vessel model. The blood vessel model includes an aorta model simulating a case of replacing a part of the thoracic aorta of a human body with an artificial blood vessel.
