Integrated emergency wash and shower system

Apparatus and methods for integrated emergency wash systems. Various embodiments include thermostatically controlled mixing valves arranged so as to permit load carrying by the body of the valve. Further, the integrated wash systems are especially suited for use in laboratories and manufacturing settings in which available space is at a premium.

Fluid injection system

The present invention provides a fluid injection system (11) which transitions between a maintenance mode wherein an outlet (15) is closed and no fluid is discharged through the outlet, and an operation mode, wherein the outlet is open and fluid is discharged through the outlet. The fluid injection system injects a first fluid transported in a first pipeline (21) with a second fluid, wherein there is a temperature differential between the first fluid and the second fluid. The fluid injection system comprises a holding tank (49) for storing the second fluid, a cooling means (35) to cool the second fluid, and a pump (39) for delivering the second fluid into the first pipeline. The second fluid mixes with the first fluid in the first pipeline to provide a combined third fluid having a temperature within a predetermined temperature range, wherein the third fluid is maintained within the predetermined temperature range when the fluid injection system is in either mode such that the temperature of the third fluid made available to an outlet is within the predetermined temperature range.

A first responder decontamination system, method, and apparatus comprising of a fluid supply in fluidic connection with a pipe further connected to a fluid dispenser, a valve for providing the fluid to the fluid dispenser from the fluid supply, a mounting bracket for adjustably mounting the fluid dispenser to a vehicle, and a pump configured to control pressure of the fluid supply. The fluid supply can be used to decontaminate first responders exiting a contaminated area.

Safety shower water temperature control using geothermal energy

Systems and methods are disclosed for maintaining a temperature of water for a safety shower within a desired range using geothermal energy. A conduit containing at least 150 liters of water can be fluidly coupled to a safety shower through which at least a portion of the water can exit. The conduit can be disposed under ground soil at a depth such that the water buffer is maintained at a temperature of between 15 C to 40 C as a direct function of a thermal inertia of the ground soil.

A bathroom fixture assembly comprising a plurality of rigid vertical members each comprising a first end configured to couple to a ceiling and a second end configured to extend downward beyond an upper edge of an outer wall of a basin of a bathtub or shower. The assembly may comprise a shower curtain channel configured to house a fully-functioning shower curtain. The assembly may further comprise one or more gates that may be used as grab bars and that may lock into position about a 180 degree range of motion around any of the rigid vertical members. The assembly may further comprise a seat, which may pivot from an upward position to a horizontal position when use is desired. The assembly may optionally comprise an exterior seat, cabinet, light, multi-use davit/hook, and/or physical therapy sky hook.

Emergency shower with improved valve actuation

The emergency shower includes a discharge outlet pivotable between a first non-use position and a second deployed position about a rotary union, for dispensing water therefrom. A ball valve is positionable between a first flow restricting position and a second flow permitting position, when the discharge outlet pivots between the first non-use and second deployed positions. A linkage system actuates ball valve movement when the discharge outlet pivots, by way of a first link pivotally coupled relative to the discharge outlet and movable therewith and a second link pivotally coupled with the ball valve and responsive to movement of the first link, the second link positions the ball valve in the first flow restricting position when the discharge outlet is in the first non-use position and commensurately moves the ball valve to the second flow permitting position when the discharge outlet pivots to the second deployed position.

SAFETY STATION TOOL

A tool for use on safety showers may include a funnel, a drain system, a base, and a height adjustment mechanism. The funnel has an interior with a width wider than a showerhead of the safety shower, so that a showerhead may fit within or seal against the interior of the funnel. The drain system connected to conduct a flow from the funnel. The base supports the drain system and the funnel and may be placed on a floor beneath the showerhead, and the height adjustment mechanism may be coupled to control a height of the funnel and control sealing pressure that the funnel applies to a showerhead.
