System and method for controlling the water fill level within a dishwasher appliance

A dishwasher appliance includes a sump, a water supply valve for providing a flow of water into the sump, and a circulation pump that circulates water that is collected in the sump to one or more spray arm assemblies. A pressure sensor is operably coupled to the sump for monitoring sump pressure and wash fluid level. A controller regulates the water supply valve to provide the flow of water into the sump and monitors the sump pressure during the fill process. The controller further determines that the circulation pump is primed when the rate of increase of the sump pressure exceeds the predetermined threshold rate and stops further filling of the sump.

System and method for calibrating a wash fluid level detection system in a dishwasher appliance

A dishwasher appliance includes a sump that defines a transition fill level where the cross sectional area of the sump increases. A pressure sensor is operably coupled to the sump for monitoring sump pressure and wash fluid level. A controller calibrates the pressure sensor by monitoring a sump pressure and determining when the wash fluid has reached the transition fill level. A measured transition pressure is taken at this point and compared to a target transition pressure that is known based on the sump geometry. A slope correction factor is calculated based on the measured transition pressure and the target transition pressure to obtain improved pressure readings and wash fluid level measurements.

A device for customizing a washing program for removing soiling from items being washed in a water-conducting household appliance includes a sensor configured to acquire spectral measurement values of organic compounds in washing water in the water-conducting household appliance. A determination unit determines functional groups of the organic compounds based on the acquired spectral measurement values of the organic compounds, and a customization unit customizes washing parameters of a current washing program based on the determined functional groups.

WATER DISPENSING DEVICE FOR A WASHING APPLIANCE
20210292960 · 2021-09-23 · ·

A water dispensing device for a washing appliance has a body and a lid defining an internal cavity and, within the internal cavity, a flow conduit for water from an inlet to an outlet. On the flow conduit an air-break is provided. One or more non-return valves are arranged on the flow conduit within the internal cavity and upstream of the air-break.

WATER CHARACTERISTIC SELECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD

Systems and methods are described, which relate to the control of additive dispensers to provide defined amounts of one or more additive compounds to water to produce customized water. A given additive dispenser may include multiple inputs and/or outputs. Predefined water profiles may be stored in memory. A given water profile may define the amounts of additives to be delivered by the additive dispensers to achieve desired water characteristics. A controller may determine actual water characteristics of input water based on corresponding sensor data, and may compare the actual water characteristics to desired water characteristics in order to determine the amount of additive or additives that should be delivered to the input water to achieve the desired water characteristics. The additive dispensers may be network-enabled and may include transceivers configured to receive instructions related to production of customized water from a user device.
