STEAM/HOT WATER DEVICE MONITORING
Systems and methods for testing steam traps or other similar devices in a hot water or steam system are described. A tester includes a wand that is handheld that can communicate with a handheld electronic device which in turn can communicate with a central monitor for storing and compiling readings as historical profile data. The wand includes a probe to physically contact the device to acoustically sense the performance of the device. The probe includes a probe tip and a stack of acoustic elements, an electrode, a stack mass, and a head to covert the acoustic signal into an electrical signal. The handheld device includes circuitry to process the information, interact with the user, and transmit information to and from the handheld electronic device and/or the central monitor.

Switched capacitor delay line
A delay line control circuit includes a pseudo-random number generator and a random phase generator circuit coupled to the pseudo-random number generator. The pseudo-random number generator is configured to produce a predetermined sequence of pseudo-random values. The random phase generator circuit is configured to randomize an access sequence for capacitors of a delay line. The random phase generator circuit includes a sequence register, an adder, and gating circuitry. The sequence register is configured to a store a value identifying one of the capacitors to be accessed. The adder is coupled to the sequence register, and is configured to increment the value stored in sequence register. The gating circuitry is coupled to the pseudo-random number generator and the adder. The gating circuitry is configured to pass one of the pseudo-random values to the adder for addition to the value stored in the sequence register.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING A SURFACE
A system includes an inspection robot having a plurality of input sensors, the plurality of input sensors distributed horizontally relative to an inspection surface and configured to provide inspection data of the inspection surface at selected horizontal positions; a controller, comprising: a position definition circuit structured to determine an inspection robot position of the inspection robot on the inspection surface; a data positioning circuit structured to interpret the inspection data, and to correlate the inspection data to the inspection robot position on the inspection surface; and wherein the data positioning circuit is further structured to determine position informed inspection data in response to the correlating of the inspection data with the inspection robot position.
Ultrasonic Transducer and Method of Fabricating an Ultrasonic Transducer
An ultrasonic transducer that includes a delay line, an active piezoelectric element, and interposing metal conductive layer between the delay line and active piezoelectric element. The delay line and active piezoelectric element are joined so that ultrasonic waves may be coupled from the active piezoelectric element into the delay line or from the delay line into the active piezoelectric element. A via is formed, using a milling operation, in the active piezoelectric element to expose the edge of the interposing metal conductive layer between the delay line and active piezoelectric element. A conductive layer makes electrical contact between the interposing metal conductive layer and the surface of the active piezoelectric element to allow an electrical connection to be made from the surface of the active piezoelectric element to the interposing metal conductive layer.

Disclosed is a battery device including a battery; a plurality of sensors attached to the battery; and a transceiving circuit configured to transmit a signal received from a monitoring device to the plurality of sensors and to transmit signals received from the plurality of sensors to the monitoring device. The plurality of sensors generate surface acoustic waves (SAWs) in response to the signal received from the monitoring device, when receiving the signal from the monitoring device through the transceiving circuit, and the plurality of sensors include at least one first sensor configured to output a first signal corresponding to a SAW varied depending on a temperature of the battery; at least one second sensor configured to output a second signal corresponding to a SAW varied depending on pressure of the battery; and at least one third sensor configured to output a third signal corresponding to a SAW varied depending on an electrolyte leakage state of the battery.

A scanning system for imaging structural features below the surface of an object, the scanning system comprising a transducer module configured to transmit ultrasound signals towards an object and to receive ultrasound signals reflected from the object whereby data pertaining to an internal structure of the object can be obtained; an analysis module coupled to the transducer module and configured to analyse received ultrasound signals to identify a feature in the received ultrasound signals; and a gating module configured to gate received ultrasound signals in dependence on the identified feature.

Inspection robots with a multi-function piston connecting a drive module to a central chassis and systems thereof are disclosed. An example inspection robot may include a center chassis coupled to a payload coupled to at least two inspection sensors. The inspection robot may further include a drive module coupled to the center chassis, the drive module having a drive wheel to engage an inspection surface and a drive piston mechanically interposed between the center chassis and the drive module. The example may further include wherein the drive piston in a first position couples the drive module to the center chassis at a minimum distance between and the drive piston in a second position couples the drive module to the center chassis at a maximum distance between. The example may further include wherein the drive module is independently rotatable relative to the center chassis.
System and method for configuring an inspection robot for inspecting an inspection surface
Systems and methods for configuring a robot for inspecting an inspection surface are disclosed. An example system may include an inspection robot having a payload coupled to at least two inspection sensors and a controller. The controller may include a route profile processing circuit to interpret route profile data for the inspection robot, a configuration determining circuit to determine one or more configurations for the inspection robot in response to the route profile data; and a configuration processing circuit to provide configuration data in response to the determined one or more configurations, the configuration data defining, at least in part, one or more inspection characteristics for the inspection robot.
System, apparatus and method for providing an interactive inspection map
Systems, apparatus and methods for providing an interactive inspection map are disclosed. An example apparatus for providing an interactive inspection map of an inspection surface may include an inspection visualization circuit to provide an inspection map to a user device in response to inspection data provided by a plurality of sensors operationally coupled to an inspection robot traversing the inspection surface, wherein the inspection map corresponds to at least a portion of the inspection surface. The apparatus may further include a user interaction circuit to interpret a user focus value from the user device, and an action request circuit to determine an action in response to the user focus value. The inspection visualization circuit may further update the inspection map in response to the determined action.
