A capsule endoscope image receiver includes a receiving electrode unit that receives first and second differential signals from a capsule endoscope image transmitter through a human body communication channel, an analog amplifying unit that receives the first and second differential signals and outputs first and second amplified differential signals, and a signal restoring unit that receives the first and second amplified differential signals and restores image information. The analog amplifying unit includes a first amplifier that outputs the first amplified differential signal, a second amplifier that outputs the second amplified differential signal, and an input impedance that is connected between a first inverting input terminal of the first amplifier and a second inverting input terminal of the second amplifier and obtains a gain of differential signal amplification in which a high frequency component of the first and second amplified differential signals is greater than a low frequency component.

The on-body antenna apparatus (40) is arranged to transmit power and/or data acting as a radiative antenna, wherein the on-body antenna apparatus (40) comprises a pair of patch antennas (42) arranged to be placed on the surface of the body (44) spaced apart from one another to form an antenna circuit that is coupled by the body tissue around and between the patch antennas (42). The antenna control system is for providing power to the on-body antenna apparatus (40) and/or for handling communications between the on-body antenna apparatus (40) and the implant antenna (16), wherein the antenna control system is arranged to drive the on-body antenna apparatus (40).

An ear ailment diagnostic device generally comprises a pair of earpieces, which both further comprise a light source, a magnification lens, an air conduction channel and a miniature camera. The earpieces may optionally comprise a thermometer and/or tympanometer. Each earpiece is coupled to an air conduction tube, an insufflator and an electrical wiring/data tube which is coupled to a computer. The insufflator may be manually, electronically, or battery powered. In the preferred embodiment the computer comprises a smart phone with data processing capability and wireless communication capability. Any data sent from the device can then be interpreted and diagnosed in a remote location so that an accurate treatment is prescribed.

The first direction corresponds to a horizontal component of an imaging direction of the endoscope. The second direction corresponds to a horizontal component of a reference direction. The reference direction is a direction in which the at least one monitor faces or is a direction toward or away from an image display surface of the at least one monitor. The processor is configured to calculate an angle between the first direction and the second direction, process the image based on the angle, and display the processed image on the at least one monitor. The processing includes a rotation processing or a horizontal flip processing.

A surgical system is disclosed including an end effector, a control circuit, a closure member, and a firing member. The end effector includes a first jaw, a second jaw, and an electrode. The first jaw is rotatable relative to the second jaw between an open position and a close position to capture tissue therebetween. The electrode is configured to conduct a sub-therapeutic RF current to the tissue. The control circuit is operably coupled to the electrode. The control circuit is configured to measure impedance of the tissue over time based on the sub-therapeutic RF current. The closure member is configured to move the first jaw towards the second jaw at a closure rate based on the impedance of the tissue. The firing member is configured to move within the end effectors towards a fired position at a firing rate based on the impedance of the tissue.

Method and device for distinguishing plaque and calculus

A method for distinguishing plaque and calculus is provided. The method is used in a device and includes the following steps: emitting, by a blue light-emitting diode, blue light to illuminate teeth in an oral cavity, wherein the blue light is used to generate autofluorescence of plaque and calculus on the teeth; sensing, by an image sensor, the autofluorescence of plaque and calculus; and distinguishing, by a processor, a plaque area and a calculus area on the teeth based on the autofluorescence.

A video laryngoscope system acquires images that can, in embodiments, be recorded and stored in a memory of the video laryngoscope. In an embodiment, the video laryngoscope can be operated in an automatic recording mode, and the acquired images are recorded automatically with no further user input and stored in a memory of the video laryngoscope. If the video laryngoscope is paired to a wireless hub, the acquired images are automatically transferred to the wireless hub in response to a power off user input. Other recording modes may use manual inputs to initiate recording and storing of the acquired images.
