LARYNGOSCOPE
A video laryngoscope has a handle and a blade. A chemiluminescent light source is disposed inside the handle, along with one or more photovoltaic cells which are optically coupled to convert chemiluminescence emitted by the chemiluminescent light source into electrical power. An image sensor is disposed on the blade or in the handle and is configured to image the glottis of a patient when the distal end of the laryngoscope blade operatively engages the tongue of the patient. The image sensor is powered by the electrical power produced by the one or more photovoltaic cells. A system for recording tracheal intubation procedures performed by a plurality of video laryngoscopes is also disclosed.
CAPSULE ENDOSCOPY
An apparatus for capsule endoscopy, the apparatus comprising a capsule that comprises: at least one inflatable bladder configured to form a toroid having a hole and an outer periphery when inflated; a plurality of continuous tracks, each extending through the hole and around the outer periphery of the at least one inflatable bladder; and a propulsion system configured to drive the continuous tracks; wherein the capsule is configured such that the continuous tracks slip over the at least one inflatable bladder when driven by the propulsion system.
ENDOSCOPIC TOOL STABILIZATION AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
According to one aspect, a device may include a shaft having a distal end and a lumen, the lumen terminating in a distally-facing opening. An instrument may be inserted through the shaft and may extend through the lumen and out of opening. The device may further include an elevator for engaging the instrument. The elevator may include an actuator extending through at least a portion of the shaft; and a body may be coupled to the actuator. A portion of the body may be configured to extend within the lumen and to apply a force to the instrument and move the instrument into contact with a surface of the lumen when the actuator is moved.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COMMUNICATING OVER A REDUCED NUMBER OF CONDUCTORS IN A TELEOPERATIONAL SYSTEM
A system and method for a teleoperational medical system is provided is provided that can include one or more processors, conductors can extend through a shaft with an interface positioned at a proximal end of the shaft and a sensor(s) positioned at a distal end of the shaft, and the conductors can electrically couple the sensor(s) to the processor via the interface. Signals can be transmitted over the conductors between the sensor(s) and the processor(s). The signals can include power and control signals transmitted in one direction over the conductors and sensor data transmitted in an opposite direction over the same conductors.
Video Endoscope and Handle, Including Driven Rotation Limitation, For Video Endoscope
The invention concerns a handle for a video endoscope including a housing and an interface portion rotatably supported relative to the housing where the interface portion includes a first connector element at its distal end section that is connectable to a second connector element of an associated elongate shaft of the video endoscope. Thereby a detachable, rotatable electrical and/or mechanical connection between the handle and the associated shaft is achieved. The coupling includes an electrical connection assembly arranged at an exterior of the interface portion forming an electrical connection to a stationary electric component of the handle. The handle includes a mechanical rotation stop for a rotation of the interface portion relative to the housing such that a rotation range is limited and damage to the electrical connection assembly is prevented.
Device handle for a medical device
A device handle is disclosed for grinding substances inside a body lumen, the device handle comprising: a high-speed drive source configured to rotate a treatment member connected to a distal end of a drive shaft; and a low-speed drive source connected to a revolution shaft, and wherein the revolution shaft is configured to cause the treatment member to move about a central axis of the revolution shaft, and wherein the central axis of a proximal portion of the revolution shaft is different from a central axis of the treatment member.
COLPOSCOPE FOR SCREENING FOR CERVICAL CANCER
A colposcope includes a handle assembly, an elongate member extending distally from the handle assembly, and a camera assembly including a neck portion coupled to the elongate member, and a body portion. The handle assembly includes a grip, a trigger movable relative to the grip, and an articulation dial operatively coupled with the body portion of the camera assembly. The elongate member includes a plurality of lumens. The body portion of the camera assembly includes an image sensor assembly having an image sensor and light emitters. The image sensor assembly is operatively coupled with the trigger of the handle assembly such that when the trigger is actuated the image sensor captures images of a target.
Image pickup apparatus, endoscope, and endoscope control method
An image pickup apparatus includes a power supply line, a regulator configured to generate a voltage from a power supply output and output the voltage to a power supply line, a current comparison circuit configured to detect an abnormality of an input current in the regulator, a voltage comparison circuit configured to detect an abnormality of an output voltage in the regulator, a power calculation circuit configured to calculate a power value as a product of the input current and the output voltage, and a power supply line abnormality judgment circuit configured to judge an abnormal state of the power supply line based on the power value, and a power supply control unit configured to control power supply output based on a judgment result of the power supply line abnormality judgment circuit.
Video Endoscope and Handle for a Video Endoscope Including Rotational Support Means
The invention concerns a handle for a video endoscope for medical or industrial applications, comprising a housing and an interface portion, where the interface portion includes a first connector element at its distal end connected to an electric transmission element that is connectable to a connector element of an associated elongate shaft to form a detachable electrical and/or mechanical connection between the handle and the associated shaft. The includes an electrical connection assembly arranged at an exterior of the interface portion forming an electrical connection between the electric transmission element and a stationary electric and/or electronic component of the handle. The handle also includes at least a first bearing for rotatably supporting the interface portion in and/or at the housing, such that when the shaft and handle are connected the shaft is rotatable via the rotatably supported interface portion relative to the housing of the handle.
Rotatable and Detachable Electrical Coupling Point
A video endoscope that includes a handle with a housing and an interface portion rotatably mounted relative to the housing, and an elongate shaft with one or more electronic image sensors, wherein a proximal end section of the shaft is detachably connected to the interface portion of the handle, where the interface portion includes a first connector element electrically connected to an electric transmission element of the interface portion and the shaft includes a second connector element electrically connected to the one or more electronic image sensors, the first and second connector elements co-operating to form a detachable electrical connection, and where the handle includes an electrical connection assembly arranged at an exterior of the interface portion forming an electrical connection to at least one stationary electric and/or electronic component of the handle in a multiplicity of rotational positions of the interface portion relative to the housing.
