Apparatus and method for endoscopic image orientation control

A system and method for displaying an endoscope image in a preferred orientation. An endoscope scans a sample with spectrally encoded light by rotating imaging optics inside an endoscope guide. A processor generates an image based on light returned from the sample, and rotates the image by a first angle offset value and a second angle offset value to display the rotated image in the preferred orientation. The first offset value is an angle difference between a specific direction in which the image is to be displayed on a display and a direction in which the tip of the endoscope is oriented with respect to the imaging plane. The second offset value is an angle difference between a direction of the line of scanning light projected onto a plane perpendicular to the tip and the specific direction in which the image is to be displayed.

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for control over automated movement of catheters and other elongate bodies. Fluid and/or pull-wire drive systems can be used to provide robotically coordinated lateral bending motions and a processor of the system can generate synchronized actuator drive signals to move the tool along an at least partially laterally constrained path, with the path optionally extending along the axis of a virtual model of the catheter that has been driven in silico into alignment with a target tissue adjacent an open workspace such as an open chamber of the heart.

Medical device with camera for imaging disposable

A method of recording a state of an apheresis machine or a dialysis machine having a disposable component disposed thereon. The disposable component has tubing and a blood component bag. The disposable component is configured to be installed on the apheresis device or dialysis machine by a human operator. The method includes acquiring with a camera an image of a forward-facing external surface portion of the apheresis machine or dialysis machine and the tubing and the blood component bag of the disposable component. The image is acquired automatically without requiring user input. The method includes recording medical device information for the apheresis machine or dialysis machine comprising the image. The method includes generating a message comprising the image and transmitting the message comprising the image to a remote computer.

A colposcopy instrument (which includes a display screen) is controlled by a specific set of steps defined in software to follow a defined protocol for performing a colposcopy examination. The software is utilized to also control the features of an included camera so that consistent digital images are recorded. The integrated software prompts the medical personnel performing the colposcopy procedure to capture relevant images in an automated sequence that includes, for example, capturing a sequence of images after the application of the acetic acid to the cervix. The displayed user interface guides the individual performing the exam through a series of easy-to-understand screen prompts to capture specific, critical images during the exam. The process, once begun, is automated and does not require the individual performing the exam to make any decisions about whether or not to record a certain image.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, DISPLAY METHOD, AND NONTRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM FOR STORING PROGRAM

Provided are an information processing device, a display method, and a program which enable easy recognition of the discrepancy between the detection result by detection processing for an image captured by an endoscope and the detection result by a user.

An information processing device (1) includes: a first acquisition unit (2) configured to acquire a capturing time of a lesion image instructed to be saved by a user, from a series of images captured by an endoscope during examination with the endoscope; a second acquisition unit (3) configured to acquire a capturing time of a lesion image detected by detection processing for the series of images captured by the endoscope during the examination; and a display control unit (4) configured to cause a display device to display a first capturing time and a second capturing time which are plotted on a time axis, the first capturing time being the capturing time acquired by the first acquisition unit (2), the second capturing time being the capturing time acquired by the second acquisition unit (3).
