Eyewear Lens with Mirror Pattern Having Variable Opacity
20230095536 · 2023-03-30 · ·

The present invention relates to dichromic mirrored patterns on fashion eyewear that exhibits variable opacity on the exterior of a photochromic lens in response to changing lighting conditions wherein the pattern can go from virtually transparent to opaque. The dichromic mirror pattern(s) can be coated in multi-color pattern sections and can be coated so that some pattern sections ave variable opacity and other pattern sections have a fixed high opacity. The effect can also be produced on an optical film to be applied to many optical surfaces.

An angle selective filter for a light projection system including a wavelength conversion material illuminated by an excitation light source in a first wavelength range, the wavelength conversion material re-emitting light in a second wavelength range after excitation by the light in the first wavelength range. The filter is configured to have a first average transmission which is high for light in the first wavelength range and for angles of incidence in the range [γ.sub.1,γ.sub.2], in a third wavelength range, the filter is configured to have a second average transmission which is high for light having an incidence angle in the range [β.sub.1,β.sub.2], and a third average reflectivity which is high for light having an incidence angle in the range [β.sub.2,β.sub.3], after reflection on the wavelength conversion material.

System for 3D Image Projections and Viewing

Shaped glasses have curved surface lenses with spectrally complementary filters disposed thereon. The filters curved surface lenses are configured to compensate for wavelength shifts occurring due to viewing angles and other sources. Complementary images are projected for viewing through projection filters having passbands that pre-shift to compensate for subsequent wavelength shifts. At least one filter may have more than 3 primary passbands. For example, two filters include a first filter having passbands of low blue, high blue, low green, high green, and red, and a second filter having passbands of blue, green, and red. The additional passbands may be utilized to more closely match a color space and white point of a projector in which the filters are used. The shaped glasses and projection filters together may be utilized as a system for projecting and viewing 3D images.
