Spirometer device with visual aid for therapeutic breathing
A spirometer-type device is described that is designed to improve patient compliance with therapeutic breathing for improved pulmonary function. In an example embodiment, a display of human lungs is provided that visually elevate with inhalation. A patient's progress is visualized with a featured conspicuous level marker and upward motions of lungs that are seen from both sides of the device.
Rescue Performance Metrics for CPR and Traumatic Brain Injury
A system for providing a visual summary of a condition of a patient when traumatic brain injury (TBI) is suspected or diagnosed includes at least one patient condition sensor configured to sense data representative of a patient condition parameter of interest for a TBI patient; at least one airflow sensor configured to sense data representative of ventilations provided to the patient; at least one visual display for providing the visual summary to a user; and at least one controller. The at least one controller is configured to cause the visual display to provide the visual summary. The visual summary can include at least one visual representation of at least one patient condition parameter for each time interval of a plurality of time intervals, at least one visual representation of ventilation information, and a visual indication of when at least one patient condition parameter is outside of a target range.

Breathing-driven flexible respiratory sensor and preparation method thereof
A breathing-driven flexible respiratory sensor includes: a test cavity and a digital electrometer, wherein an upper internal wall of the test cavity is provided with an upper detecting component, and a lower internal wall of the test cavity is provided with a lower detecting component; the upper detecting component and the lower detecting component is arranged in a longitudinal symmetry form; wherein the upper detecting component comprises a substrate, an electrode and a gas sensitive film bonded in sequence from top to bottom, and the substrate is bonded to the upper internal wall of the test cavity; wherein a rubber airbag is disposed in the test cavity, and a friction film is bonded to the rubber airbag; an air inlet cylinder is connected to a left end of the rubber airbag, and an air outlet cylinder is connected to a right end of the rubber airbag.
FACE MASK WITH MOISTURE LEVEL AND OXYGEN SATURATION DETECTION
A face mask includes a mask body formed of a flexible material and configured to cover the mouth and nose of the user such that a cavity is formed between the face of the user and the face mask, the mask body having an interior surface facing the mouth and nose of the user and an exterior surface opposite the interior surface; a first sensor unit for measuring a moisture level and an oxygen level of the air entering the cavity; a second sensor unit for measuring a moisture level and an oxygen level of the air being expelled from the cavity; and at least one wireless transceiver configured to transmit data from the first sensor unit and the second sensor unit to a remote device.
INHALATION OF NITRIC OXIDE
A method of treating a human subject which is effected by inhalation of gaseous nitric oxide over a period of 8 day to about 28 days is disclosed. The method can be utilized for treating a human subject suffering from, or prone to suffer from, a disease or disorder that is manifested in the respiratory tract, or from a disease or disorder that can be treated via the respiratory tract. The disclosed method can be effected while monitoring one or more of on-site and off-site parameters such as vital signs, methemoglobin levels, pulmonary function parameters, blood chemistry and hematological parameters, blood coagulation parameters, inflammatory marker levels, liver and kidney function parameters and vascular endothelial activation parameters, such that no substantial deviation from a baseline in seen in one or more of the monitored parameters.
Container for Determining Body Composition and Method
A method and apparatus to determine body composition of a subject is disclosed. Physical characteristics of a subject and water in a pool is determined. A body of the subject is completely submerged in the pool of water such that a head of the subject is just below a surface of the water in the pool. The subject completely exhales air into an air measuring device as the body of the subject is submerged just below the surface of the water. A semi-rigid strip or tab portion may be coupled to the air measuring device to indicate when air pressure within the air measuring device is between a predetermined range. The body composition is then determined based on the determined subject characteristics, water characteristics and the amount of air exhaled into the air measuring device when the air pressure is between the predetermined range.
