A method for measuring foot size and shape by using image processing includes a step of acquiring an image captured by simultaneously photographing a user's foot and an item having a standardized size; and a calculation step of calculating foot size or shape information from the image. The image is captured when at least a part of the user's foot comes in contact with the item.

In order to estimate the degree of supination/pronation of a foot through a simple configuration, an estimation device comprises a detection unit for detecting the period of a stance end phase from time-series data of sensor data based on a physical quantity relating to foot movement measured by a sensor installed on a foot part, a feature quantity extraction unit for extracting a feature quantity from the angular waveform in the coronal plane during the period of the stance end phase, and an assessment unit for assessing the degree of supination/pronation of the foot using the feature quantity extracted from the angular waveform in the coronal plane.

A system has a body with a base having a top surface with a receiving region to receive the bottom of a single foot. Among other things, the base may be in the form of an open or closed platform with a plurality of temperature sensors in communication with the top surface of the receiving region. The plurality of temperature sensors are within the receiving region and configured to activate after receipt of a stimulus applied to one or both the platform and the plurality of temperature sensors. A comparator is configured to form a temperature range as a function of the temperature value distribution and compare a percentage of the range size of the temperature distribution to a threshold value. An output produces ulcer information indicating the emergence of an ulcer or pre-ulcer when the percentage of the range size equals or exceeds the threshold value.

Systems and processes for measuring and sizing a foot are provided. In one exemplary process, at least one image of a foot and a horizontal reference object from a first point of view is captured. A portion of the foot may be disposed against a vertical reference object. The at least one image may be displayed, where one or more camera guides are overlaid on the at least one displayed image. In response to aligning the one or more camera guides with one or more of the horizontal reference object and the vertical reference object, a measurement of the foot based on the at least one captured image from the first point of view is determined.

A prediction device includes: a communication device that acquires measurement subject data including measurement data of a shape of a foot of a measurement subject person in a loaded state; a storage that stores first sample data in the loaded state and second sample data in an unloaded state, the first sample data and the second sample data being calculated from measurement data of foot shapes of a plurality of samples, the samples being identical both in the loaded state and the unloaded state; and a processor that predicts the shape of the foot of the measurement subject person in the unloaded state. The processor calculates a difference between the measurement subject data and the first sample data, and predicts the shape of the foot of the measurement subject person in the unloaded state based on the difference and the second sample data.

One aspect of this disclosure is a method comprising: receiving, from a camera, a video feed depicting a pair of feet and a scaling object; capturing, with the camera, images of the feet and the scaling object based on the video feed; identifying foot features in each captured image; determining camera positions for each captured image by triangulating the foot features; generating a point cloud in a three-dimensional space by positioning each foot feature in the three-dimensional space based on the camera positions; scaling the point cloud based on the scaling object; segmenting the point cloud into at least a right-foot cluster and a left-foot cluster; fitting a first three-dimensional morphable model to the right-foot cluster according to first foot parameters; and fitting a second three-dimensional morphable model to the left-foot cluster according to second foot parameters. Related systems, apparatus, and methods also are described.

A foot length information management system includes: a measurement unit that measures foot length; a storage unit that stores multiple patterns of growth curve information; an age information input unit into which age information of a customer is entered; and a growth curve information selecting unit that refers to the age information to select growth curve information corresponding to foot length measured by the measurement unit, from among the multiple patterns of growth curve information. The foot length information management system may further include a recording unit in which past foot length is recorded, and the growth curve information selecting unit may select growth curve information based on foot length recorded in the recording unit and foot length measured by the measurement unit.

The present arrangement provides a system for managing diabetic foot care patients that include a communication interface for transmitting diagnostic forms to a doctor device and receiving input from the doctor device. A processor manages the transmissions and received input and a database storing the diagnostic forms and the received input, as well as pre-stored risk assessment guidelines. The system is configured to transmit the diagnostic forms to a doctor device for guiding a comprehensive foot exam, and further, to accept doctor input including at least a plurality of foot examination details and a risk pool assessment. The system compares at least a plurality of foot examination details against the pre-stored risk assessment guidelines and confirms or reject the risk pool assessment input by the doctor if the risk pool assessment is or is not congruent with requirements contained in the pre-stored risk assessment guidelines.

A system for managing foot length information of a growing person is to be provided. A foot length information management system includes: a measurement unit that measures foot length; a storage unit that stores multiple patterns of growth curve information; an age information input unit into which age information of a customer is entered; and a growth curve information selecting unit that refers to the age information to select growth curve information corresponding to foot length measured by the measurement unit, from among the multiple patterns of growth curve information. The foot length information management system may further include a recording unit in which past foot length is recorded, and the growth curve information selecting unit may select growth curve information based on foot length recorded in the recording unit and foot length measured by the measurement unit.
