SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LUNG-VOLUME-GATED X-RAY IMAGING
A system obtains multiple x-ray measurements corresponding to different breathing phases of the lung by determining, based on a volumetric measurement of the patient's breathing, a breathing phase of the patient and gating an x-ray imaging apparatus to produce an x-ray projection of the patient's lung when the breathing phase matched any of a plurality of different breathing phases. The system extracts multiple displacement fields of lung tissue from the multiple x-ray measurements corresponding to different breathing. Each displacement field represents movement of the lung tissue from a first breathing phase to a second breathing phase and each breathing phase has a corresponding set of biometric parameters. The system calculates one or more biophysical parameters of a biophysical model of the lung using the multiple displacement fields of the lung tissue between different breathing phases of the lung and the corresponding sets of biometric parameters.
Detection and identification of a human from characteristic signals
One or more sensors are configured for detection of characteristics of moving objects and living subjects for human identification or authentication. One or more processors, such as in a system of sensors or that control a sensor, may be configured to process signals from the one or more sensors to identify a person. The processing may include evaluating features from the signals such as breathing rate, respiration depth, degree of movement and heart rate etc. The sensors may be radio frequency non-contact sensors with automated detection control to change detection control parameters based on the identification of living beings, such as to avoid sensor interference.

Medical Data Collection System and Method of Use Thereof
The subject of the invention is a system for collecting medical data such as heart rate, breathing frequency, intracranial pressure, apnea and others, and method of use thereof. The present invention provides a unique way of collecting medical data, in particular in their acquisition from a plurality of measuring elements.
DETECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A RESPIRATORY MOVEMENT, COMPUTER PROGRAM, COMPUTERREADABLE STORAGE MEDIUM, AND MEDICAL DEVICE
A detection apparatus and a method are provided for detecting a respiratory movement of a patient. The detection apparatus includes at least two metallic U-shaped signal coupling elements that are interleaved so that between the signal coupling elements arises at least one coupling point at which a signal may be transferred between the two signal coupling elements. Analysis electronics are configured to detect a change in a receive signal produced in a second of the signal coupling elements that is acting as a receiver in the near-field region of the first signal coupling elements as a result of a signal given for one of the signal coupling elements that is acting as a transmitter being coupled into the second of the signal coupling elements, which change indicates the respiratory movement.

DEPTH SENSING VISUALIZATION MODES FOR NON-CONTACT MONITORING
The present invention relates to the field of medical monitoring, and, in particular, to non-contact detecting and monitoring of patient breathing. Systems, methods, and computer readable media are described for calculating a change in depth of a region of interest (ROI) on a patient and assigning one or more visual indicators to at least a portion of a graphic based on the calculated changes in depth and/or based on a tidal volume signal generated for the patient. In some embodiments, the systems, methods, and/or computer readable media can display the visual indicators overlaid onto at least the portion in real-time and/or can display the tidal volume signal in real-time. The systems, methods, and/or computer readable media can trigger an alert and/or an alarm when a breathing abnormality is detected.
Systems and methods for monitoring the attachment and/or positioning of a wearable of a sensor device
A system for monitoring medical conditions including pressure ulcers, pressure-induced ischemia and related medical conditions comprises at least one sensor adapted to detect one or more patient characteristic including at least position, orientation, temperature, acceleration, moisture, resistance, stress, heart rate, respiration rate, and blood oxygenation, a host for processing the data received from the sensors together with historical patient data to develop an assessment of patient condition and suggested course of treatment. In some embodiments, the system can further include a support surface having one or more sensors incorporated therein either in addition to sensors affixed to the patient or as an alternative thereof. The support surface is, in some embodiments, capable of responding to commands from the host for assisting in implementing a course of action for patient treatment. The sensor can include bi-axial or tri-axial accelerometers, as well as resistive, inductive, capactive, magnetic and other sensing devices, depending on whether the sensor is located on the patient or the support surface, and for what purpose.
