In some examples, a medical device includes an elongated body defining an inner lumen. The medical device further includes an anchoring member and a first sensor at a proximal portion of the elongated body, and a second sensor at a distal portion of the elongated body or distal to a distal end of the elongated body. The second sensor is configured to sense a substance of interest and the elongated body comprises a material that is a substantially non-permeable to the substance of interest.

UROFLOW MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A uroflowmetry device including a funnel for funneling urine of a user, a sensor for measuring urine level in the funnel over a measurement period, a paddle wheel operable to rotate in response to urine exiting the funnel and generate a signal after each rotation during said measurement period, a transmitter for transmitting data from the uroflowmetry device to a smart device, and a processor. The processor configured to, while the user is urinating, compute a urine flowrate based on urine level in the funnel and a number of rotations of the paddle wheel over the measurement period, and transmit the urine flowrate to the smart device to provide real-time urination feedback to the user.

DEVICE FOR MEASURING BODILY FLUID DRAINAGE AMOUNT

The present invention relates to a device for measuring a bodily fluid drainage amount, the device comprising: a measurement case which is formed of a rigid material and provided with a bodily fluid measurement space therein; a drainage tube which is coupled to an entrance of the measurement case in a releasable structure and transfers bodily fluids discharged from a human body to the bodily fluid measurement space of the measurement case; a plurality of fluid level sensors, which are horizontally disposed on an upper surface of the measurement case and measure and inform fluid levels of the bodily fluids collected in the bodily fluid measurement space; and a control device which receives and analyzes the fluid levels of the bodily fluids, infers a tilt of the measurement case from a difference in the fluid levels of the bodily fluids, and calculates and informs a bodily fluid drainage amount.

Fluid Output Measurement and Analysis System

Embodiments described herein are directed to an automatic fluid measurement system including a fluid collection system configured to drain a fluid from a patient, and a short wave infrared imaging system configured to image the collection container to provide a high contrast, high resolution image and determine a volume of fluid disposed therein. In an embodiment, the system can determine a fluid flow rate, or determine a presence or concentration of foreign particles within the collection container. One or more cameras can image different portions of the container, or can include different focal lengths. Images of the collection container can be communicated to remote computing devices for further analysis.

Disclosed herein is an automated urinary output monitoring system including urine collection assembly that includes a first drainage tube coupled between a urinary catheter and an interim container, and a second drainage coupled between the interim container and a final container. A scale measures the weight of urine collected in the final container and a display depicts the volume of urine collected in the final container. A vacuum pump can be coupled with the final container to draw urine from the interim container into the final container, and an air vent can isolate the patient from the vacuum within the final container. The system can be configured to wirelessly transmit urine volume data to an external computing device. A gyroscope can be coupled with the scale to determine the orientation of the scale. Logic of the system can calculate urine volume and correlate with the time of day.

An artificial bladder system including an implantable bladder, a valve, a number of sensors, and an alert mechanism. The implantable bladder includes an outer wall forming a chamber for collecting urine of a user, the outer wall including inflow openings and an outflow opening. The valve is integrated with the outflow opening to selectively allow urine to flow from the chamber through the outflow opening. The sensors are configured to detect a urine level in the chamber. The alert mechanism is configured to generate a sensory output to alert the user that the bladder should be emptied upon detection of the urine level in the chamber by one of the sensors.
