A system for monitoring neural activity of a living subject is provided. The system may comprise a correspondence module configured to be in communication with (1) a neural module and (2) one or more additional modules comprising a sensing module, another neural module, and/or a data storage module. The neural module(s) are configured to collect neural data indicative of perceptions experienced by the living subject. The sensing module may be configured to collect (1) sensor data indicative of real-world information about an environment around the living subject, and/or (2) sensor data indicative of a physical state or physiological state of the living subject. The data storage module may be configured to store prior neural data and/or prior sensor data. The correspondence module may be configured to measure a correspondence (a) between the neural data collected by the neural module(s) and the sensor data collected by the sensing module, (b) between the neural data collected by two or more neural modules, and/or (c) between the neural data collected by the neural module(s) and the prior data stored in data storage module. The measured correspondence can be used to determine a presence, absence, or extent of a potential cognitive or physiological disturbance of the living subject.

Neuro-physiology and neuro-behavioral based stimulus targeting system

An example system includes a processor to determine a first distance between a first peak in a first frequency band of neuro-response data gathered from a subject while exposed to media and a second peak in the first frequency band; determine a second distance between a third peak in the first frequency band and either the second peak in the first frequency band or a fourth peak in the first frequency band; determine a first difference between the first distance and the second distance; generate a first response profile for the subject based on the first difference; and integrate the first response profile with a second response profile associated with a second subject to form an integrated response profile. A selector is to select an advertisement or entertainment for presentation based on the integrated response profile. The processor is to modify the media to present the advertisement or entertainment.

A system for achieving the sensation of drinking a particular drink, known as the target liquid, when in fact another drink, such as water, is being consumed. The system consists of a glass which contains not only water but also a small amount of the target liquid, in order to provide the true smell and image of the desired drink, as well as an electronic system for generating a series of signals which, by means of electrodes, stimulate the user's tongue to act on a series of nerve cells and provide the brain with a signal as similar as possible to that which the real drink provides to the taste buds of the user. The user of the system thus has the sensation of drinking the target liquid.

Configurable system for evaluating stimulus sensitivity of a subject and method of use therefor

A configurable system is used to evaluate stimulus sensitivity of a subject. An action channel provides a stimulus to the subject and a reaction channel receives a response from the subject. A signal pathway is connected to the action channel and to the reaction channel. A controller establishes loops within the signal pathway. Loop types include a transduction loop including the action channel and forming a path terminating in the signal pathway, and a channel loop including the action channel and terminating at a reference unit. Other possible loop types include an interface loop including the action channel, the reaction channel and the reference unit having an initial parameter value, and an adaptive loop including the action channel, the reaction channel and the reference unit whose parameter value is adapted based on the response from the subject. A method using the system is also described.

METHOD OF DIAGNOSTIC RELEVANCE BASED ON TASTE RECOGNITION

A method for determining neurotransmitter levels and/or neurotransmitter receptor sensitivity in an individual, comprising: determining a taste recognition profile of the individual for at least one taste modality prior and subsequent to the administration of a pharmaceutical for increasing neurotransmission; comparing the taste recognition profiles to determine a change; and comparing that change with corresponding measurements from a comparative database to determine neurotransmitter levels and/or neurotransmitter receptor sensitivity in the individual. In addition, a sample of a taste modality is provided for use in a method of diagnosis of a psychiatric, neurological, psychosomatic or physical disorder in an individual.

Systems and methods for evaluation of neuropathologies

Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for evaluating vulnerability, disease progression, and treatments in neuropathologies. In one aspect, a method to provide an assessment related to a neurological or neuropsychiatric disorder includes selecting a profile category indicative of one or more aspects of cognitive or sensory functions associated with a neurological or neuropsychiatric disorder, presenting a sequence of stimuli to a subject, in which the sequence of stimuli is based on the selected profile category, acquiring physiological signals of the subject before, during, and after the presenting of the sequence of stimuli to produce physiological data, and processing the physiological data to generate an information set including one or more quantitative values associated with the selected profile category.

MECHANISMS FOR CHEMICAL SENSE RESPONSE IN MIXED REALITY
20190041975 · 2019-02-07 ·

Apparatus, systems, or methods for mixed reality with chemical sense response are disclosed herein. In embodiments, an apparatus for a mixed reality computing with chemical sense response may include monitor logic and distribution logic. The monitor logic may collect data about a user's response to a first set of stimulations to represent an actual chemical sense response by the user with respect to the first set of stimulations. Based on the collected data, a variance between the actual chemical sense response by the user with respect to the first set of stimulations, and a desired chemical sense response for the user with respect to the first set of stimulations may be determined. The distribution logic, including circuitry, may deliver to the user a second set of stimulations. Other embodiments may also be described and claimed.
