Sensing device and method for processing sensing data
The present disclosure relates to a sensing device and a method for processing sensing data.
WALKING STATE DETERMINATION DEVICE, WALKING STATE DETERMINATION SYSTEM, WALKING STATE DETERMINATION METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Provided is to determine a walking state when a target person uses a stick. A walking state determination device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an acquisition unit that acquires feature information indicating a feature of a motion of a target person when using a stick, based on first measurement data acquired from a first sensor installed at the stick and second measurement data acquired from a second sensor installed at the target person; and a determination unit that determines a walking state of the target person, based on the acquired feature information.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR QUANTIFICATION OF POSTURAL BALANCE OF USERS IN AN AUGMENTED REALITY ENVIRONMENT
Systems and methods for quantification of postural balance of users in an augmented reality (AR) environment. Traditional systems and methods provide for quantifying the postural balance using the AR environment but none of them quantify or restrict the functional tasks performed by the users to a predefined level. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for the quantification of the postural balance with a variable step height in the AR environment by acquiring first set of information comprising of data on skeletal joints, filtering the first set of information for obtaining a filtered set of data, computing the set of postural data based upon the filtered set of data and quantifying the postural balance based upon the set of postural data by computing threshold values for obtaining postural stability index scores and determining based upon the postural stability index scores, the postural balance of the users in the AR environment.
SELF-EVALUATION TOOL AND DIAGNOSTIC METHOD FOR HEALTHY AGEING
A self-assessment tool, application program and method for assisting a person or medical doctor in diagnosing the person's nutritional, functional, physical and cognitive abilities in order to suggest remedial actions. The method includes displaying results that show each of the standard cognitive and physical abilities in a sized depiction with the patient's cognitive and physical abilities shown in another sized depiction such that when the patient's cognitive or physical abilities are lower than the standard abilities, the patient's sized depiction is smaller in size than the depiction of the standard abilities, and when the patient's cognitive or physical abilities are higher than the standard abilities, the patient's sized depiction is larger in size. This allows the patient's doctor to quickly and visually determine which abilities, if any, require remedial action to try to enhance or increase the patient's abilities to thus improve the patient's further aging and quality of life.
Gait Monitoring and Stimulation Device
A gait monitoring and stimulation device utilizing multiple sensors for actively monitoring for gait freezing events and utilizing multiple types of gait stimulation cues or modes in response to the detection of a gait freezing event experienced by a user. The gait monitoring and stimulation device utilizes global positioning system geographic data, accelerometer data, and audio data to determine whether a gait freezing event is likely being experienced by a user. A laser device used in conjunction with a lens having a diffractive optical element, is utilized to project a visual cue comprising the image of a descending staircase onto the ground in front of the user of the device. Auditory stimulation cues are also provided. One or more accelerometers monitor the orientation of the device, deactivating the laser if the device orientation exceeds a threshold angle likely to lead to eye damage caused by the laser.
Method and system for detecting virtual reality sickness causing content in virtual reality motion simulators
The present disclosure relates to methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and devices, for detecting virtual reality sickness causing content in virtual reality motion simulators. A visual perception measurement of a virtual reality content being displayed on a head-mounted virtual reality device of a virtual reality motion simulator is determined. A vestibular perception measurement of the virtual reality content is then determined. The visual perception measurement and the vestibular perception measurement of the virtual reality content are compared. An indication of a user experience in the virtual reality motion simulator is determined based on the comparison and the indication of the user experience is output.
WEARABLE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING INTOXICATION
A system for transdermal alcohol sensing to be worn near a skin surface of a user, including: an alcohol sensor; a microporous membrane; a housing coupled to the alcohol sensor and the membrane, defining a volume between the alcohol sensor and a first membrane side, and fluidly isolating the volume from a second membrane side opposing the first membrane side; an electronics subsystem electrically coupled to the alcohol sensor, operable to power and receive signals from the alcohol sensor; and a fastener operable to position the second membrane side proximal the skin surface.
Vestibulogram
An apparatus for determining a subject's threshold for perceiving acceleration includes a motion platform to execute motions and to receive a response to the executed motions from a subject on the motion platform and a feedback system in communication with the motion platform to receive the subject's responses and to determine a next motion. The next motion has at least one feature determined based on the response of the subject to the executed motions. The apparatus also includes a controller connected to the motion platform and the feedback system to cause the motion platform to execute the motions defined by a motion set
Systems and methods for rehabilitation of limb motion
Systems and methods for rehabilitation of limb motion are described herein. An example system can include a thermal imaging device for imaging a subject or a plurality of sensors for sensing force or pressure exerted by a portion of the subject's body. The system can also include a processor and a memory operably coupled to the processor. The processor can be configured to receive force or pressure data measured by the sensors or image data captured by the thermal imaging device, and calculate a quantitative measure of the subject's limb motion based on the force or pressure data or the image data.
Force measurement system
A force measurement system is disclosed herein. The force measurement system includes a force measurement assembly configured to receive a subject thereon, a visual display device having an output screen, and one or more data processing devices operatively coupled to the force measurement assembly and the visual display device. In the one or more embodiments, the force measurement assembly is a static force plate and the visual display device is a head-mounted visual display device or a visual display device having an output screen configured to at least partially circumscribe three sides of a torso of the subject. In one or more other embodiments, the force measurement assembly is a displaceable force plate and the visual display device is a head-mounted visual display device.
