Detection and Response to Arousal Activations
Arousal events can be determined for a user associated with a wearable device, such as a user wearing a wearable computing device including one or more sensors. The one or more sensors may obtain EDA information that may determine a sympathetic nervous system response of the user, which may be responsive to an arousal event or an activation. Detection of events that increase the EDA response may provide information to the user regarding arousal events and provide recommendations to the user to address the arousal events to decrease their response.
TETHERLESS WEARABLE THERMAL DEVICES AND METHODS OF USING THEM FOR TREATMENT OF SLEEPING AND NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS
Described herein are tetherless, forehead-mounted temperature regulation apparatuses configured to enhance sleep.
Method and system for modulating neural activity
Methods and related systems for modulating neural activity by cyclically modulating neural activity in peripheral neural structures are disclosed. Neural activity may be modulated cyclically by stimuli delivered via various types of stimulus sources. In an aspect, activity of a sensory nerve is modulated. Neural modulation may be used, for example, to modulate an undesired sensation, such as pain, or an immune or inflammatory response or process. Delivery of stimuli for modulating neural activity may be controlled in part in response to an input from a user input device.
Methods and devices for treating conditions associated with autonomic dysfunction
Methods and devices treating an autonomic nervous system associated disease condition in a subject are provided. Aspects of the invention include inducing one or more physiological response selected from the group consisting of sweating, gastric emptying, enhanced heart rate variability and enhanced quantitative sensory test responsiveness in a manner sufficient to modify the autonomic nervous system so as to treat the subject for the disease condition. The methods and devices find use in a variety of applications, e.g. in the treatment of subjects suffering from conditions arising from disorders of the autonomic nervous system.
System with kinesthetic stimulation medical device for the non-invasive assessment of the sympathovagal balance of a patient
A system for assessing a sympathovagal balance of a patient includes a generator configured to produce stimulation pulses, a stimulator that receives the stimulation pulses produced by the generator and outputs a stimulation energy, a sensor configured to measure a physiological signal, and a processor. The processor is configured to control the generator during a plurality of sequences to produce the stimulation pulses over a test period, determine a biological parameter of a current activity of the patient derived from the physiological signal, determine a variation of the biological parameter resulting from the stimulation pulses, and determine a sympathovagal balance index according to the variation in the biological parameter.
AUTOREGULATION STATUS MONITORING
Processing circuitry may receive one or more signals of a patient. The processing circuitry may determine an autoregulation status of the patient based at least in part on the one or more signals. The processing circuitry may output, for display at an output device, a graphical user interface (GUI) that includes an indication of the autoregulation status of the patient and an indication of a lower limit of autoregulation (LLA) value, wherein the GUI does not include an indication of an upper limit of autoregulation (LLA) value.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to estimate a waveform of heartbeats by inputting a waveform of a measured pulse wave to a model constructed by mounting a pulse wave measurement device and a heartbeat measurement device to a test subject and calculating the relationship between respective waveforms output from the devices.
Neuro-response stimulus and stimulus attribute resonance estimator
An example system includes an analyzer to identify first activity in first neuro-response data, the first activity generated in response to exposure of a subject to a first stimulus prior to exposure to an advertisement or entertainment; identify second activity in second neuro-response data, the second activity generated in response to re-exposure of the subject to the first stimulus after to exposure to the advertisement or entertainment; calculate a differential event related potential measurement; and calculate a differential event related power spectral perturbation. The example system includes a resonance estimator to determine a subject resonance measurement to the advertisement or the entertainment based on the differential event related potential measurement and adjust at least one of the subject resonance measurement or the differential event related potential measurement based on the differential event related power spectral perturbation to generate an adjusted subject resonance measurement.
Mapping sympathetic nerve distribution for renal ablation and catheters for same
This invention provides methods for mapping and ablating renal nerves to treat disease caused by systemic renal nerve hyperactivity, e.g. hypertension, heart failure, renal failure and diabetes. Also provided are catheters for performing the mapping and ablating functions.
Monitoring and modulation of parasympathetic nervous system
The present invention provides systems and methods for monitoring cardiac autonomic nervous system activity and modulating parasympathetic control of cardiac function.
