Segmentation of structures for state determination
Applicants have discovered a new low-cost and accessible method and apparatus that allowing for quicker and more precise state determinations based on medical images. The method and apparatus are non-intrusive and require providing a medical image of a subject and determining a state based on a comparison to a training image set comprising two or more states. There is provided, according to the present invention, a computer-implemented method for processing medical images comprising calculating non-local means patch-based weights comparing patches surrounding pixels of interest in a test image with a number of patches of pixels surrounding a corresponding number of pixels in reference images; and calculating for the pixels of interest at least one state estimation using a given state assigned to said reference images and said weights.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS
An image processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to obtain three-dimensional image data of a brain acquired by performing a magnetic resonance imaging process. The processing circuitry is configured to generate a projection image rendering a micro bleed or calcification occurring in the brain by performing a projecting process on the three-dimensional image data in a range limited on the basis of a shape of the brain. The processing circuitry is configured to output the projection image.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for assessing a mental state of a subject in a single session or over multiple different sessions, using for example an automated module to present and/or formulate at least one query based in part on one or more target mental states to be assessed. The query may be configured to elicit at least one response from the subject. The query may be transmitted in an audio, visual, and/or textual format to the subject to elicit the response. Data comprising the response from the subject can be received. The data can be processed using one or more individual, joint, or fused models. One or more assessments of the mental state associated with the subject can be generated for the single session, for each of the multiple different sessions, or upon completion of one or more sessions of the multiple different sessions.
Multifunctional smell test
Provided are systems, methods, and kits for multifunctional smell assessment. The kits may comprise a first surface adhered by a first releasable adhesive comprising an odorous volatile compound; and the system for registering if the odorous volatile compound is detected by a user. The system or method may comprise queries for obtaining a first input on whether the user detects and identifies the odorous volatile compound, and an intensity by which the odor is perceived.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BRAIN ACTIVITY INTERPRETATION
A method includes receiving electroencephalographic (EEG) signal data recordings collected from a plurality of individuals via at least one EEG monitoring device. An optimized plurality of wavelet packet atoms is constructed based on the EEG signal data recordings and a mother wavelet. The optimized plurality of wavelet packet atoms is reordered to obtain an optimal reordered set of wavelet packet atoms. The optimal reordered set of wavelet packet atoms is normalized to obtain an optimal normalized set of wavelet packet atoms that is representative of brain activities of the plurality of individuals. A particular EEG signal data recording of a particular individual is received, which is projected onto the optimal normalized set of wavelet packet atoms to obtain an individual-specific set of projections for the particular individual on the optimal normalized set of wavelet packet atoms. A brain activity representation of the particular individual is generated based on the individual-specific set of projections.
PREDICTION DEVICE BASED ON INTER-ORGAN CROSS TALK SYSTEM
An apparatus 1 comprises a subject data obtaining unit 11 for obtaining subject data M4 of an inter-organ cross talk indicator in each organ other than a specific organ, a pattern similarity calculation unit 12 for calculating, by comparing the subject data M4 with standard data 1 of the inter-organ cross talk indicator, similarity of patterns of the inter-organ cross talk indicators, and a prediction unit 13 for predicting the presence of a specific disease and/or the stage of the specific disease by using the similarity as a measure.
Systems and methods for determining a brain condition of a subject using early time frame PET image analysis
Systems and methods for use in identifying a brain condition of a subject are provided. In some aspects, a provided method includes constructing a classifier to identify a brain condition of a subject comprising steps of receiving image data obtained from a plurality of subjects, wherein the image data is acquired during an acquisition period following administration of at least one radioactive tracer. The method also includes defining a plurality of brain condition classes using the image data associated with one or more time frames during the acquisition period, and processing the image data to generate signatures corresponding to each of the plurality brain condition classes. The method further includes constructing the classifier using the signatures. The classifier can then be applied to determine a degree to which the subject expresses one or more disease states in order to determine a brain condition of the subject.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO MEASURE AND MONITOR NEURODEGENERATION
A system to measure and monitor neurodegeneration of a subject, which includes: an acquisition module configured to acquire electroencephalographic signals with multiple EEG channels from a subject perceptually isolated; a calculation module configured to extract at least one EEG metric representative of neurodegeneration; and an evaluation module configured to evaluate the at least one EEG metric and extract a neurodegeneration index.
