APPARATUS FOR TESTING DISTAL COLONIC AND ANORECTAL FUNCTION
In at least one embodiment of a device configured for insertion into a gastrointestinal tract of the present disclosure, the device comprises a core comprising a core material which is solid, semi-solid or compressible, one or more sensors embedded in an interior of the device and/or on a surface of the device, at least one of the one or more sensors configured to obtain a pressure measurement within the gastrointestinal tract and during defecation of the device, and a plurality of electrodes within or upon the device and configured to obtain impedance planimetric measurements within the gastrointestinal tract and during defecation of the device, the impedance planimetric measurements useful to determine cross-sectional areas.
CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF URINE AND FECES VAPOR
A gas sensor system is for use in, or in the vicinity of, a toilet, for detecting a target gas. A gas sensor detects a concentration of at least the target gas and a further, reference, gas which is received from a controlled gas release device. These concentrations are processed to obtain a concentration of the target gas relative to the concentration of the further gas by combining a change in the detected concentration of the target gas, a change in the detected concentration of the further gas, the sensitivity of the gas sensor system to the target gas and the sensitivity of the gas sensor system to the further gas. This approach avoids the need for extensive calibration operations to tune the sensor response to the environment in which it is used.
ADAPTIVE COMPRESSION THERAPY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems, devices and methods for providing active and/or passive compression therapy to a body part can include a compression device worn over a compression stocking. The compression device can have a pulley based drive train that is driven by a motor to tighten and loosen compression elements, such as compression straps, in a precise, rapid, and balanced manner. Sensors can be used in the compression device and/or compression stockings to provide feedback to modulate the compression treatment parameters.
HYGIENE MONITORING DEVICE WITH A SENSING PANEL
There is provided a hygiene monitoring device including a sensing panel. The sensing panel has an elongate flexible panel defining a longitudinal axis. The elongate flexible panel includes a first pair of plates spaced apart from each other in a direction crossing the longitudinal axis. The elongate flexible panel also includes a second pair of plates spaced apart from each other in a direction crossing the longitudinal axis. The first pair of plates and the second pair of plates are disposed on a flexible substrate of the elongate flexible panel. Each plate of the first pair of plates and each plate of the second pair of plates is elongate along the longitudinal axis of the elongate flexible panel. The hygiene monitoring device is configured to measure the impedance between two of the plates.
TREATMENT OF FECAL INCONTINENCE
Methods and devices to diagnose and treat fecal incontinence in females and males are provided. A multiple sensor-enabled catheter for positioning in a patient's rectum allows for the visualization and manipulation or positioning of an anatomical reference point(s) in the patient's body. A multiple sensor-enabled catheter for rectal insertion in a patient allows for the visualization and implementation of efficient and effective exercises to strengthen pelvic floor muscles.

In some embodiments, the present invention provides a method for the diagnosis of inflammation and/or infection. In some embodiments, the present invention provides a method for the treatment or prevention of inflammation and/or infection. In some embodiments, the present invention provides methods for monitoring the effect of inflammation and/or infection treatment, and/or methods for monitoring an inflammation and/or infection treatment regimen. In some embodiments, the present invention provides a method for selecting subjects for an inflammation and/or infection treatment. In some embodiments, the present invention provides a method for determining the dosage of a drug for the treatment of inflammation and/or infection.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DIAGNOSIS AND ASSESSMENT OF RECTAL CANCER TREATMENT RESPONSE
A system for determining a probability of normal rectal tissue composition within a region of interest of an ultrasound or photoacoustic image of the rectal tissue is disclosed. The system includes a computing device with at least one processor configured to receive at least one of a photoacoustic image and an ultrasound image; select a region of interest within the at least one of a photoacoustic image and an ultrasound image; transform the region of interest into the probability of normal rectal tissue composition using a CNN model; and display the probability of normal rectal tissue composition to an operator of the system.
Remote valve reopening
An abnormal consumption detection system is provided with remote valve control for a distributed water infrastructure. The system may comprise an electronically controllable valve, a remote communication transmitter, a remote communication receiver, at least one sensor for measuring water flow information associated with the distributed water infrastructure, and at least one processor. The system may determine from the water flow information obtained from the at least one sensor a potential abnormal consumption associated with the distributed water infrastructure. The system may automatically close a valve, without human intervention, when the potential abnormal consumption is determined. The system may transmit, via the remote communication transmitter to a remote administrator, alert information about the potential abnormal consumption to enable an administrator to decide based on the transmitted information whether to reopen the valve. The system may receive from the administrator via the remote communication receiver a control signal to reopen the valve, despite the information about the potential abnormal consumption, and reopen the valve.
