UTERINE ACTIVITY TOOL

Uterine activity tools and methods of use thereof. The uterine activity tools of this invention are designed to provide clinicians with information to evaluate uterine activity of a pregnant patient utilizing a fetal monitor with a tocodynamometer external pressure sensor (TOCO) and/or an intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC). The tool of this invention displays vital information for assessment and documentation of uterine activity including date, time, mode, contraction frequency, contraction duration, contraction intensity, resting tone, relax time, calculated Montevideo units, and number of contractions in a selected time period.

MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS ASSISTANCE METHOD

Disclosed is a method for assistance with the establishment of a diagnosis of a patient, starting from at least one identified sign, and based on a computerized knowledge database including a medical ontology. The medical ontology includes: a list of signs forming a sign class; a list of pathological states forming a pathological state class; and a first set of logical relationships between the signs and the pathological states, each logical relationship establishing a correlative link between a sign and a pathological state. The method includes: a step of searching for potential pathological states, linked to at least one of the identified signs by the first set of logical relationships; and a step of identifying potential signs in which, for each potential pathological state, all of the signs linked by a correlative link to the potential pathological state are identified by the first set of logical relationships.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE MOBILE ANALYSIS OF EXCREMENT IN A TOILET
20180184906 · 2018-07-05 ·

The invention relates to a device for determining physiological data through analysis of human excrement in a toilet (T) by means of at least one indicator and/or sensor, and to a method for determining physiological data by analysis of human excrement in a toilet (T) by measurement of urine and/or stool values. The problem addressed by the invention is that of achieving maximally universal use of the device and thus broad dissemination, including in the case of a wide variety of toilet designs, with reasonable design effort and manageable costs. This problem is solved by a measurement system, in which an indicator (11) or sensor can be brought into a measurement position, in which sufficient contact with the urine or stool to be examined occurs, by means of an arm (10) for each measurement, wherein the indicator (11) or sensor is/are designed as (an) independent unit(s), and by a corresponding method in which a plurality of previously determined values are measured and then processed further and forwarded as applicable.

Drug device configured for wireless communication

This invention relates to an ingestible drug delivery device configured for wireless communication with other ingestible drug delivery devices.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADVERTISING IN RESPONSE TO DIAGNOSTIC TEST
20180174194 · 2018-06-21 ·

A system and method are provided for collection and testing of a biologic sample in a self-diagnostic test. The system and method comprise collecting by a user of a testing device a biologic sample for use with the testing device, assigning correlative values as test results, and receiving the test results at a server disposed on a network. Some aspects include a mobile application operating on a mobile device with which the user interacts. These aspects allow advertisements and other messages to be presented to the user through the mobile application. Some aspects present different messages to the user based on the type of self-diagnostic test the user is conducting.

Labor management methods for decreasing the duration of second stage labor
09993192 · 2018-06-12 · ·

The present disclosure provides methods for decreasing the duration of second stage labor by managing the labor process. In one aspect, a tactile feedback device is positioned adjacent the perianal tissues. A mother's labor is monitored for the progression of the baby along the birth canal and adjustments are performed in response to the progression of labor to promote a vaginal childbirth. A perianal support device includes a perianal support member having a pressure surface configured for engagement with tissue adjacent an anal orifice and a pressure detecting system associated with the perianal support member to detect pressure indicative of pressure on the perianal tissue of a patient.

Systems, Devices, and Methods for Tracking Abdominal Orientation and Activity
20180132778 · 2018-05-17 ·

The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to tracking abdominal orientation and activity for purposes of preventing or treating conditions of pregnancy or other types of medical conditions. In certain specific embodiments, the system, device, or method relates to identifying abdominal orientation risk values, calculating and updating a cumulative risk value, comparing the cumulative risk value to a threshold, and outputting a warning when the cumulative risk value crosses the threshold.

Monitoring uterine activity

An apparatus and method for detecting uterine activity uses cutaneous electrodes on the maternal abdomen to obtain electrophysiological signals that can be used to obtain fetal and maternal heart rate. The apparatus includes a first input for receiving electrical signals from the cutaneous electrodes and a second input for receiving movement signals indicative of a movement of the maternal body from a movement detector. A signal processor separates a uterine electromyogram signal from fetal and maternal heart rate signals and filters out motion artifacts from the electromyogram using the movement signals. An output presents electrohysterogram (EHG) data from the uterine electromyogram signal.

Method and System for Post-Partum Haemorrhage Detection

Disclosed is a monitoring system configured for determining risk of postpartum haemorrhage to a patient. The monitoring system comprises an electrical potential sensor for collecting patient data and at least one electrode for attaching the electrical potential sensor to a body of the patient. The monitoring system also comprises a communications module for transmitting the patient data to a detection controller, wherein the detection controller is configured to determine the risk of the postpartum haemorrhage based on the patient data.
