An oil base skin care composition including squalane and a method for treating skin are disclosed. The method includes the step of individually displaying a plurality of visual skin guides to a consumer. Each of the visual skin guides includes a plurality of visual representations of a categorical skin condition. Each of the visual representations correspond to a severity score for the categorical skin condition on the visual skin guide. The method further includes correlating the severity score for each of the categorical skin conditions for each of the visual skin guides to the consumer's current skin condition. At least two target skin conditions from the plurality of categorical skin conditions are determined in response to the severity scores for each of the categorical skin conditions. At least one booster containing at least one active ingredient is correlated for treating each target skin condition.

The apparatus for estimating bio-information may include a pulse wave sensor including a plurality of channels, and configured to measure pulse wave signals at a plurality of points of an object; and a processor configured to generate oscillograms corresponding to the plurality of channels based on the pulse wave signals measured by the plurality of channels; determine a channel, from among the plurality of channels, for estimating the bio-information based on the oscillograms; and estimate the bio-information based on an oscillogram of the channel.

A system for recommending ultraviolet protection for a subject's skin includes an interrogation device, an analysis device, and an output device. The interrogation device has an ultraviolet sensitive module configured to generate interrogation data based on sensed electromagnetic energy reflected by the subject's skin in response to irradiation of the subject's skin by an ultraviolet electromagnetic energy source. The analysis device is configured to receive the interrogation data from the interrogation device and generate an ultraviolet analysis, which includes a recommendation for further ultraviolet protection of the subject's skin, based at least in part on the interrogation data. The output device receives the ultraviolet analysis and outputs the recommendation for further ultraviolet protection of the subject's skin.
