The jaw exercise system comprises one or more of a progressive resistance attachment assembly, a passive motion attachment assembly, a force characterization attachment assembly, and a hyoid motion attachment assembly.

Biosensor performance indicator for intraoral appliances

Methods and apparatuses for monitoring either or both the performance of an orthodontic appliance for repositioning a patient's teeth and/or the user compliance in wearing the appliance using a biosensor. The apparatuses described herein may include one or more sensors, including biosensors, electrical sensors, or both, configured to generate sensor data related to user compliance and/or repositioning of the patient's teeth by an orthodontic appliance.

Modular deformable platform

A modular deformable electronics platform is attachable to a deformable surface, such as skin. The platform is tolerant to surface deformation and motion, can flex in and out of a plane of the platform without hindering operability of electrical components included on the platform, and is formed via arrangement of discrete flexible tiles, with corners of adjacent tiles connected by a flexible connection material so that individual tiles can translate and rotate relative to each other. Interconnects disposed on bases of separate tiles electrically connect adjacent tiles via their connected corners, and electrically connect components disposed on different tiles. Each pair of adjacent corner connections defines an axis about which at least a portion of the platform can flex without deformation and without hindering connections between tiles. The flexible material and/or bases of the tiles can include Parylene.

EATING MONITORING METHOD, PROGRAM, AND EATING MONITORING DEVICE

The present invention provides an eating monitoring method for judging whether chewing is performed or not by a chewing judgment algorithm on the basis of a temporal variation in a measured value of a sensor unit configured to detect a movement of a jaw while a person takes a meal, the person wearing a detection device comprising the sensor unit. The method includes the steps of: adjusting the chewing judgment algorithm on the basis of a variation in a measured value of the sensor unit, the variation corresponding to a chewing action or a mouth opening/closing action of the person wearing the detection device; and judging whether chewing is performed or not by the chewing judgment algorithm which has been adjusted, and measuring the number of chews on the basis of a temporal variation in a measured value of the sensor unit during the meal.

Capacitive sensor array for dental occlusion monitoring

The invention relates to devices, systems and methods exploiting capacitive means for monitoring and analysing teeth-related parameters in a subject, such as the dental occlusion profile and/or the load/force applied upon clenching. The device comprises a body such as a bite fork or bite splint, capacitive sensor(s) incorporated within a soft substrate reversibly deformable once bitten by a subject and a micro-controller unit. The teeth contact points and forces applied upon occlusion are measured via the sensors, delivered to and re-elaborated by the micro-controller unit and possibly sent and visualized in a graphical/numerical fashion on e.g. a display screen.

COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY AND POSITIONING OF A VOLUME TO BE IMAGED

The invention relates to positioning a volume to be imaged for computed tomography imaging. According to the invention, at least two optical cameras (22) are used for taking a photo or for live imaging an anatomy from different directions. A volume positioning indicator (42) is shown in connection with these images, the volume positioning indicator (42) indicating the location of the volume within the area imaged by the cameras (22) to get imaged by the computed tomography imaging apparatus (10).

Method and device for the recording of body movements
10592734 · 2020-03-17 · ·

The invention relates to a method for recording the position, location or movement of a body part of a patient and a device for recording the position, location or movement of a body part or a medical instrument. According to the invention, a graphic marker is connected with the body part or the instrument and an image of the body comprising the graphic marker is generated by an image recording camera (5, 6, 7). The image is processed by a processor device (14) as an image file. The invention is characterized in that at least one geometric size characteristic of the graphic marker is known, wherein the processor device (14) determines the position, location and/or movement of the graphic marker in the three-dimensional space and in a quantitative manner relative to the image recording camera (5, 6, 7) by means of the known size characteristic. The invention offers, without the need of manual calibration of the measuring system, a substantial automatization and a high measuring precision during the determination of position and movement in the three-dimensional space. Simultaneously, the expenditure on equipment can be reduced and the reaction to the object or body part to be measured or to the patient can be minimized.

LIP FORCE DETECTING APPARATUS
