A garment comprises a body covering and support belts arranged on the body covering, the body covering comprising portions for covering joints of a wearer, wherein the support belts are arranged on the body covering to run along a surface of the body of the wearer so that each of the joint-covering portions of the body covering is positioned between one end of either of the support belts and the opposite end thereof, wherein the support belts are attached to the body covering so that the support belts and the body covering are separately and individually stretchable, and wherein the support belts each have a tension (T1) in a direction (S) connecting said one end and said opposite end of either of the support belts, and portions of the body covering that lie below the support belts each have a tension (T2) in a direction parallel to the direction (S).

The front-side-and-rear panel is joined to the center-front pouch on either side of the center-front pouch. The center-front pouch is composed of two layers of material, an inner layer and an outer layer, the inner and outer layers and being joined by a center seam of the center-front pouch. In certain embodiments, each leg hem is a combination feature comprising a self-turnback fold, bonded with adhesive stretch tape. In certain embodiments, a seam allowance of the center-front pouch seam of the center-front pouch is folded within the inner layer and the outer layer of the center-front pouch.

A garment that includes one or more grip elements is disclosed. The grip elements, as disposed on a garment, may enable enhanced frictional forces between the garment and an object, such as exercise equipment, with which the garment may make contact. The grip elements may be composite structures disposed on one or more surfaces of the garment and may include an elastomeric and/or rubbery material with grit materials, such as sand, alumina, silicon carbide, or the like, embedded therein. The grit material may be at least partially exposed at the surface of the grip elements and may enhance gripping forces when the grip elements are wet, such as with sweat, compared to grip elements formed by only elastomeric materials. Grip elements may be formed on various portions of a garment separately and then those portions may be attached to each other to form the garment with grip elements.

Socks having integrated gripping systems

Socks or stockings including integrated gripping systems include gripping material disposed on external surfaces of a sole of the sock and gripping material disposed on internal surfaces of the sock. In some examples, the integrated gripping systems comprise a first set of gripping dots comprising gripping material applied to external surfaces of the sole of the sock and a second set of gripping dots comprising gripping material applied to internal surfaces of the sole of the sock. In some examples, the integrated gripping systems comprise a knitted fabric including gripping yarn, which includes knitted gripping portions disposed on internal surfaces of the sock and external surfaces of the sock.
