An electrode inclination surface facing a side on which the treating portion is located is provided on an outer surface of the electrode member of the grasping piece, and the electrode inclination surface extends from an inner side to an outer side in a width direction so as to be inclined in a direction away from the treatment portion.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR REDUCING LEAKAGE CURRENTS IN CRYO, RADIO-FREQUENCY, AND PULSED-FIELD ABLATION SYSTEMS
Methods and apparatus for monitoring and actively reducing leakage currents flowing on patient applied parts used in ablation therapy. In an example, a signal-processing circuit connected between a toroidal-coil sensor and a sleeve-capacitor coupler, both AC-coupled to the catheter cable, applies a Fourier transform and an energy minimization algorithm to the output of the toroidal-coil sensor to determine amplitudes and phases for frequency components of the signal applied to the sleeve-capacitor coupler. A corresponding current coupled through the sleeve-capacitor coupler into the catheter cable counteracts the leakage current to force the total non-therapy electrical current flowing on the patient applied parts to a level that is lower than a fixed threshold value, e.g., selected in accordance with an applicable standard.

The method comprises gathering data during surgical procedures, wherein the surgical procedures include the use of a surgical suturing instrument comprising a suturing needle configured to be mechanically advanced through a suturing stroke, analyzing the gathered data to determine an appropriate operational adjustment of the surgical suturing instrument, and adjusting the operation of the surgical suturing instrument to improve the operation of the surgical suturing instrument.
Electrosurgical generator
An electrosurgical generator with a high-voltage power supply that supplies a DC output voltage receives the DC output voltage of the high-voltage power supply and generates a high-frequency AC output voltage. When generator is operating, a control unit receives signals from an AC output voltage measuring unit and current measuring unit. The control unit limits an increase of DC output voltage of the high-voltage power supply as soon one predefined maximum value is reached or exceeded. When the generator is operating, the control unit configured to receive signals from a DC output voltage measuring unit that represent a respective current value of the DC output voltage, and to compare a respective current value of DC output voltage with a predefined minimum value for DC output voltage, and to cause the DC output voltage of the high-voltage power supply to increase as soon as it falls below the predefined minimum value.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CALCULATING TISSUE IMPEDANCE IN ELECTROSURGERY
An electrosurgical generator and associated methods determine a real part of the impedance of treated tissue. The electrosurgical generator includes an output stage, a plurality of sensors, and a controller that controls the output stage. The controller includes a signal processor that determines an RMS voltage, an RMS current, an average power, and a real part of the impedance of the treated tissue based on measured voltage and current by using a plurality of averaging filters. The controller controls the output stage to generate electrosurgical energy based on at least the determined real part of the impedance.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING THE STATUS OF A FLUID-COOLED MICROWAVE ABLATION SYSTEM
A method of determining the status of a fluid cooled microwave ablation system is provided including providing an electrical current to a pump to pump fluid through an ablation system along a fluid path to cool the ablation system, measuring an electrical current drawn by the pump, and determining a status of the ablation system based on the measured electrical current. In another aspect of the disclosure, an ablation system is provided including an ablation probe defining a fluid path for circulation of fluid therethrough, a generator configured to supply energy to the ablation probe for treating tissue, a pump configured to pump fluid through the fluid path of the ablation probe to cool the ablation probe, a sensor configured to measure an electrical current drawn by the pump, and a computing device configured to determine a status of the ablation system based on the measured electrical current.
TRAINING DATA GENERATION METHOD, CONTROL DEVICE, AND CONTROL METHOD
A training data generation method includes: obtaining output information related to an electrical characteristic value in an energy treatment tool when ultrasound energy is being applied from the energy treatment tool to a body tissue; obtaining photography data that contains a photograph taken of a state in which the ultrasound energy is being applied to the body tissue; obtaining a label from the photography data; and adding the label to the output information to generate the training data.
Plasma treatment device
The plasma sensor monitors parameters characterizing the condition of the plasma during the treatment phase and/or the change thereof in order to recognize a prefiguring or already occurred interruption of the plasma in this manner and to avoid this interruption and, in the ideal case, avoid this by already changing the voltage form previously. The mentioned mechanisms can be used by the control device (22) also during a pulse packet. The length of each pulse packet is adapted at each change of the voltage form according to their characteristics in order to guarantee a constant average power.
PLASMA SURGERY APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SUCH AN APPARATUS
A plasma surgery apparatus includes an HF generator for generating an HF activation signal, a gas source for providing a plasma gas, and a plasma applicator having a channel which opens out at a distal end of the applicator and through which the plasma gas can flow. The apparatus also includes an HF electrode that is electrically connected to the HF generator. When the HF electrode is supplied with the HF activation signal, a plasma is provided originating from the distal end of the applicator. The apparatus also includes a control unit and a flow regulator for regulating a flow rate the plasma gas in the channel. The control unit receives or requests an operating variable of the HF generator and, according to a saved functional relationship, controls the flow regulator so that the flow rate of the plasma gas is correlated with a detected value of the operating variable.
