MAGNETIC FIELD PHASE DRIFT VERIFIER AND COOLING SYSTEM CHECKER
Devices, systems, and methods to verify a magnetic field phase drift and to check for proper function of a laser fiber cooling system during laser ablation therapy are disclosed. The laser fiber cooling system includes a cooling catheter insertable into laser ablation target tissue, a coupling assembly to define fluid channels, inflow and outflow ports, a fluid pump to pump fluid through the laser fiber cooling system, a fluid source, a first sensor to measure an inflow fluid parameter, a second sensor to measure an outflow fluid parameter, and a processor. Methods of verifying and checking include measuring the fluid parameter, comparing the inflow and outflow parameter measurements to determine a comparison value, comparing the comparison value to a tolerance range, and signaling a user when the comparison value is outside of the tolerance range.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR APPLYING ULTRASOUND TO BRAIN STRUCTURES WITHOUT MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
Ultrasound treatment of neurological conditions with energy levels that do not cause damage such as heating or cavitation. A method includes detecting a plurality of Doppler signals from a plurality of arteries near a brain structure, aligning an ultrasound transducer with the brain structure based on the plurality of Doppler signals, and applying ultrasound waves from the ultrasound transducer to the brain structure.
SMART ASPIRATION SYSTEM
Systems and methods for dynamically modulating aspiration in response to sensed conditions. An aspiration system can include a catheter configured to be inserted within a vasculature of the subject, a canister coupled to the catheter, a pressure source that generates a vacuum pressure through the catheter for aspirating the fluid, a sensor configured to sense a parameter associated with at least one of the catheter, the canister, or the pressure source, and a computer system coupled to the sensor. The computer can cause the pressure source to initiate the vacuum pressure throughout the catheter, receive a measurement of the parameter from the sensor, determine whether the measurement violates a threshold associated with the parameter, and modulate the vacuum pressure at the catheter tip in response to a determination that the measurement violates the threshold.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING TISSUE REGIONS OF THE BODY
Systems and methods deploy a therapeutic or diagnostic element into contact with a body tissue region. The systems and methods can sense position of the therapeutic or diagnostic element relative to a targeted tissue region without direct or indirect visualization, by sensing fluid pressure in a fluid path having an outlet located at or near the therapeutic or diagnostic element. The systems and methods can also inflate the therapeutic or diagnostic element during use, while taking steps to avoid over-inflation and/or while dynamically monitoring the pressure conditions within the expanded element.
CATHETER SYSTEM AND ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY FOR INTRAPROCEDURAL EVALUATION OF RENAL DENERVATION
The present disclosure provides catheter systems, electrode assemblies, and methods for electrically stimulating one or more points about the circumference of the renal artery to provide real time intraprocedural operational feedback to the operator of a renal denervation procedure to allow for more precise and thorough ablation of the renal artery and better patient outcomes. In many embodiments, an electrode assembly is provided that includes multiple splines that extend from an insulated proximal hub to an insulated distal hub and are interconnected to an electrical wire to allow the splines to independently function as electrical stimulation electrodes. The electrically active splines can then be energized at one or more desired points during a renal denervation procedure to provide operational feedback.
Ablation Catheter with Integrated Cooling
Ablation catheters and systems include coaxial catheter shafts with an inner lumen for delivering an ablative agent and an outer lumen for circulation of a cooling element about the catheter. Induction heating is used to heat a chamber and vaporize a fluid within by wrapping a coil about a ferromagnetic chamber and providing an alternating current to the coil. A magnetic field is created in the area surrounding the chamber which induces electric current flow in the chamber, heating the chamber and vaporizing the fluid inside. Positioning elements help maintain the device in the proper position with respect to the target tissue and also prevent the passage of ablative agent to normal tissues.
Methods and devices for localized disease treatment by ablation
Provided herein are methods, systems, and devices for increasing heat shock protein expression and treating conditions for which increased heat shock protein expression is expected to be beneficial using thermal ablation.
ADJUSTMENT OF A SURGICAL DEVICE FUNCTION BASED ON SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
Surgical devices and surgical systems are disclosed. The surgical device can comprise an actuator and a control circuit configured to adjust one or more functions of the surgical device based on a signal from a situationally-aware surgical hub. A surgical system can comprise a screen and a control circuit configured to communicate a priority level of a recommendation to the clinician on the display.
Intra-cardiac mapping and ablating
Systems, methods, and devices allow percutaneous mapping, orientation and/or ablation in bodily cavities or lumens. Such may include a structure that is percutaneously positionable in a cavity, such as an intra-cardiac cavity of a heart. Transducers carried by the structure are responsive to blood flow. For example, the transducers may sense temperature, temperature being related to convective cooling caused by blood flow. A controller discerns positional information or location, based on signals from the transducers. For example, blood flow may be greater and/or faster proximate a port in cardiac tissue than proximate tissue spaced from the port. Position information may allow precise ablation of selected tissue, for example tissue surround a port in the intra-cardiac cavity.
Medical system and method of use
Methods, systems and devices for applying energy to tissue, and more particularly relates to a system for ablating or modifying structures in a body with systems and methods that generate a flow of vapor at a controlled flow rate for applying energy to the body structure.
