Photoplethysmography front-end receiver
20230102504 · 2023-03-30 ·

A photoplethysmography front-end receiver is capable of eliminating an error in the estimation of an ambient-light current. The receiver includes a current-to-voltage conversion circuit, an integrator, a switch circuit, and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The current-to-voltage conversion circuit converts an input current into a differential voltage signal. The integrator receives the differential voltage signal and outputs an analog output voltage. The switch circuit is set between the current-to-voltage conversion circuit and the integrator, forwards the differential voltage signal to the integrator in a first duration when a controllable light source is turned on, and forwards an inverted signal of the differential voltage signal to the integrator in a second duration when the controllable light source is turned off, wherein the second duration is after or before the first duration. The ADC generates a digital signal for analysis according to the analog output voltage after the second duration.

According to an embodiment, an electronic device includes: a memory and at least one processor connected to the memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to: acquire a workout type name in response to a request for adding a workout type, recommend at least one data type based on the workout type name, generate a new workout type corresponding to the workout type name based on a data type selected from among the at least one recommended data type, and acquire workout measurement information corresponding to the selected data type in response to execution of the new workout type.

AUTOMATIC AMBIENT LIGHT CANCELLATION METHOD FOR OPTICAL FRONT-END METHODS AND APPARATUS

Automatic ambient light cancellation for an optical front end. The present disclosure includes a coarse loop and fine loop in a feedback circuit configured to cancel out currents generated by detection of ambient light. An optical front end comprises a single-ended photo-diode connected to a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) followed by a buffer stage to generate differential output. A feedback loop controls a current digital to analog converter (iDAC) which is used to cancel out undesired current (e.g., from ambient light). This results in the TIA from saturating and maintain good signal quality with greater sensitivity.

AUDIOMETRIC SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH AMBIENT NOISE DISTRACTION AND MASKING INDENTIFICATION

A system and method for testing hearing of a subject in an environment in which ambient noise is present, which identifies threshold levels that require retesting due to presence of masking or distraction created by ambient noise during pure tone audiometry. An acoustic sensor monitors ambient noise in the vicinity of the subject during pure tone audiometry while pure tone stimuli are presented.

PASSIVE, PROPORTIONAL MEASUREMENT OF OXYGEN AND CARBON DIOXIDE CONSUMPTION FOR ASSESSMENT OF METABOLIC PARAMETERS

A conventional flow tube for a metabolic cart is usually a straight length of pipe whose inner diameter is fixed by the respiratory burden imposed by the flow tube on the user, with a smaller diameter imposing a higher respiratory burden. The ratio of the straight flow tube's length to diameter is fixed by fluid dynamics, so increasing the flow tube's diameter causes the flow tube's length to increase. As the flow tube gets longer, it exerts more torque on the user's neck and jaw, creating discomfort. Reducing the flow tube's length causes an undesired increase in the respiratory burden but increasing the flow tube's diameter to reduce the respiratory burden makes the flow tube less comfortable, making the flow tube unconformable, hard to breathe through, or both. Bending the flow tube makes it possible to increase the flow tube's propagation length without increasing the flow tube's lever arm length.
