METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CORRECTING FIELD OF VIEW USING USER TERMINAL INFORMATION UPON PLAYBACK OF 360-DEGREE IMAGE

A method and a system for correcting a field of view (FOV) using tilt information of a user terminal upon playback of a 360-degree image. The method includes requesting to load a 360-degree image, correcting at least one of a tilt of the mobile terminal and a sensing value associated with a gesture input of the mobile terminal, for determining an FOV of the 360-degree image, with respect to the 360-degree image, and playing back the 360-degree image by exposing an FOV depending on at least the corrected tilt or the corrected sensing value.

Concurrent tape modification

Writing new data to a tape volume of a tape emulation unit includes determining if the new data is an update to data that was previously written, writing the new data to a new section of the tape emulation unit in response to the new data not updating data that was previously written, deleting the data that was previously written and writing the new data to a new section in response to the new data updating data that was previously written, the new data being larger than the data that was previously written, and the underlying file system not supporting variable size records/blocks, and overwriting the data that was previously written in response to the new data updating data that was previously written and either the new data not being larger than the data that was previously written or the underlying file system supporting variable size records/blocks.

Balancing data for storage in a memory device

Methods, systems, and devices related to balancing data are described. Data may be communicated using an original set of bits that may be partitioned into segments. Each of the original set of bits may have a first value or a second value, where a weight of the original set of bits may be based on a quantity of the set of bits that have the first value. If the weight of the original set of bits is outside of a target weight range, a different, encoded set of bits may be used to represent the data, the encoded set of bits having a weight within the target weight range. The encoded set of bits may be identified based an inversion of the original set of bits in a one-at-a-time and cumulative fashion. The encoded set of bits may be stored in place of the original set of bits.

DATA DISTRIBUTION METHOD IN STORAGE SYSTEM, DISTRIBUTION APPARATUS, AND STORAGE SYSTEM

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a storage system, including a distribution apparatus and a storage device; the storage device includes at least two storage controllers and multiple storage units, where each storage unit is configured with any one of the at least two storage controllers as a home storage controller; and the distribution apparatus includes a front-end interface and at least two back-end interfaces, where the front-end interface is configured to connect to a host device, and each back-end interface is connected to each storage controller in a one-to-one correspondence manner. According to the technical solutions provided in the present disclosure, the distribution apparatus parses an IO read/write instruction, so that the IO read/write instruction can be accurately sent to the home storage controller, which avoids forwarding the IO read/write instruction between the storage controllers, thereby improving IO processing efficiency of the storage system.

Data is placed in tiered storage with a suitable granularity according to application characteristics. The storage apparatus comprises a controller for managing storage areas, provided by storage media of a plurality of types of varying performance, as pools, and for assigning the storage areas in page units to a virtual volume from any tiered storage among a plurality of types of tiered storage which the pool comprises in response to a data write request from the host computer, wherein, for specific data which is managed by the host computer, the controller specifies an area with a high referencing frequency among the specific data on the basis of organization information of the specific data, and moves this area to another of the tiered storage with a higher performance than an already assigned tiered storage.

Sequential write stream management

In one embodiment, sequential write stream management is employed to improve the sequential nature of write data placed in a storage such as a solid state drive, notwithstanding intermingling of write commands from various sequential and nonsequential streams from multiple processor nodes in a system. In one embodiment, write data from an identified sequential write stream is placed in a storage area assigned to that particular identified sequential write stream. In another aspect, detected sequential write streams are identified as a function of write velocity of the detected stream. Other aspects are described herein.
