An automated teller machine (“ATM”) is described. The ATM can be provided with an interface area which includes a display unit and one or more sensors. The display unit can move relative to the interface area so that the display is better accessible for a user of the ATM. For example, the display can make translational or rotational movements, e.g., telescoping movements. The ATM can include a sensor which can detect an object, a location for the object and a distance from the object. Using this information, the ATM can move or guide the display in a direction which makes the display more accessible for the user.

A scanner scans a readable identification tag affixed to a good during a time period. A pricing engine of at least one server queries, dynamically and in real-time, a database to identify, from the readable identification tag, the good and the information associated with the good. The pricing engine then applies algorithms to the identified good to calculate a price of the good and modify the calculated price of the good during the time period to optimize a target function. The optimization of the target function depends on price-calculation factors associated with a shelf-state of the good and associated with a future stock of the good. At least one calculated price based on the expiration date of the good is displayed.

Ingredient level consumption guidance methods and control systems in beverage mixture dispensing systems are disclosed. A disclosed method for operating a beverage mixture dispensing system includes setting an ingredient consumption threshold for an ingredient. The ingredient consumption threshold is associated with an account. The method also includes mixing a beverage using an amount of the ingredient, dispensing the beverage, updating an ingredient consumption level associated with the account, by adding the amount to the ingredient consumption level, and displaying, on a display, the ingredient consumption level and the ingredient consumption threshold.

According to one embodiment, there is provided an image forming device that prevents write information from being incorrectly written to a non-target RFID tag. The image forming device according to the embodiment includes: a placement unit, a wireless tag communication unit, and a conductor. A sheet provided with a wireless tag can be placed in the placement unit. The wireless tag communication unit can write information to the wireless tag provided on the sheet. The conductor is provided in the placement unit and hinders communication between the wireless tag communication unit and the wireless tag.

A smart delivery receptacle and related systems and techniques are disclosed. A tracking system includes a hub coupled to a client device, such as a computer or mobile phone, and one or more tags configured to wirelessly communicate with the hub. The hub includes a web server and a radio frequency transceiver. A browser executing on the client device exchanges data with the web server included in the hub, allowing location of the one or more tags via the client device without installation of a dedicated application on the client device for communicating with the hub or with the one or more tags. Additionally, the client device may communicate with a remote server via a network to communicate with additional tags via the browser executing on the client device.
