Augmented pre-paid cards, systems, and methods
10997626 · 2021-05-04 · ·

Pre-paid transaction card systems and methods are described. A transaction system can include a transaction database to store transaction objects that represent characteristics of a pre-paid transaction card. A deal engine communicatively coupled with the transaction database can receive an image of a marker-less portion of the transaction card and derive a set of image descriptors from the marker-less portion. The deal engine can also identify transaction characteristics associated with the card from the transaction database using the image descriptors. In addition, the deal engine can construct a deal recommendation based on the transaction characteristics previously identified. The deal recommendation can be transmitted to a user, and in some cases, displayed to the user as an augmented reality image.

Systems and methods for conditionally gifting funds

Described herein are examples of gift card management systems that provide gift cards that must be activated prior to being used in a transaction. In some examples, a purchaser may be refunded some or all of a purchase price for the gift card when the gift card is not activated. In some examples, the activation may additionally include certain safeguards to prevent fraud.

PAYMENT DEVICE APPLETS WITH PRE-STORED MESSAGES AND TRIGGERABLE LOGIC
20210103917 · 2021-04-08 ·

A system may include a payment card that includes one or more chips that are operable to utilize information in a payment transaction to enact different functions. For example, a payment applet in a contact chip transaction (e.g., contact EMV transaction) or contactless chip transaction (e.g., contactless EMV transaction) may utilize information that flows through the chip (e.g., country, time, date, transaction amount, approval status) to trigger pre-stored messages or functions (e.g., switch to a payment option or account). Information may be introduced into the chip during a transaction as a result of manual input from the cardholder on the cardholder's phone or other device. Thus, transaction scripting (e.g., EMV scripting) may be utilized to let a card (e.g., static or powered) know that a function (e.g., change of account) is desired by a cardholder and the chip may, if not in the proper account, reset and restart the chip in a mode associated with the desired function (e.g., in the desired account).

MULTI-FUNCTION APPLET POWERED CARDS AND OTHER DEVICES

A card or other device may include two or more contact chips, each contact chip associated with a different payment method.

SCALABLE LOYALTY PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHODS OF PROCESSING LOYALTY DATA
20210103949 · 2021-04-08 ·

Real time scalable loyalty processing apparatuses and/or systems operable to process up to ten thousand transactions per second and more than one billion transactions annually, and having a sub-second response time.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRANSACTION DETECTION AND TRANSACTION INDICATOR MECHANISMS FOR CARDS AND DEVICES

A detection activity of a card may be sensitive to property changes in one or more conductive pads on the card and/or information received by the card, where a processor of the card may execute a transaction indication algorithm based on detected property changes on the card, that may be caused by the card's proximity to a point-of-sale terminal and/or by information received by the card. The transaction indication algorithm may cause the processor to provide visible, audible and/or tactile indicators on the card based on the detection.

ADVANCED SECURE PAYMENT DEVICE

A wallet card or other device includes three buttons, a PCB antenna for connection to all cellular bands including low band, mid band and high band, dual pressure sensors operable to determine velocity and/or as an independent trigger, a cellular chip whose encryption/decryption key between a payment network and the cellular chip is dynamically changeable for security, and a dynamic magnetic communications device operable to communicate data using a magnetic data waveform with amplitude adjusted by the device.

Systems and methods for digital account activation

A computer-implemented method includes receiving a first input from a customer to establish an account at a financial institution; establishing the financial institution account for the customer based on registration information regarding the customer; generating a card number for a physical payment card and associating the card number with the financial institution account; receiving a customer-input PIN that establishes the PIN for the financial institution account after establishing the financial institution account and generating the card number; receiving a second input from the customer to provision the financial institution account to a mobile wallet application before creation of the physical payment card; provisioning the financial institution account to the mobile wallet application; and associating the card number with a status indicator, the status indicator associated with a digitally-active status that enables the customer to engage in mobile wallet transactions using the financial institution account.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONDUCTING PERSON TO PERSON TRANSACTIONS USING REWARD POINTS

Systems and methods for conducting person to person (P2P) transactions using points are disclosed. In one embodiment, in an information processing apparatus comprising at least one computer processor, a method for person-to-person reward points gifting may include: (1) receiving, from a bank customer, a request to issue a reward points gift to a gift recipient, the request identifying gift recipient contact information for the gift recipient and a reward points amount; (2) sending a notification to the gift recipient contact information for the gift recipient to log in a gift recipient account to redeem the reward points gift; and (3) transferring the reward points amount to a gift recipient reward points account.

PAYMENT CARD BENEFIT VALUE ESTIMATOR SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH TRANSACTION-BASED INDIVIDUAL CARDHOLDER RELEVANCE OF SELECTABLE BENEFITS

A payment card benefit assessment system and method includes a computing device accepting payment card benefit catalog information from a payment card issuer and payment card transaction data from a payment card processing network. The payment card transaction data is analyzed to group cardholders into one demographic clusters and to determine an estimated benefit value for each of the demographic clusters. Individualized payment card benefit options are presented to an individual cardholder based on the individual cardholder's payment card transactions and the determined estimated benefit value for a corresponding one of the plurality of demographic clusters.
