Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for selecting content items for presentation along with publisher resources. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a request for a content item for presentation at a user device with a publisher resource; receiving, from a content item provider a first selection value for each of a plurality of content items provided by the content item provider; determining, for each of the content items and using accessed distribution parameters, a second selection value distinct from the first selection value; and determining, for each of the content items and independent of a bid corresponding to the content item, a combined selection value based on the first selection value for the content item and the second selection value for the content item.

Virtual currency for managing advertising and content delivery
A content delivery platform may deliver program content segments and advertising content segments to multiple user devices. The content delivery platform may deliver a program content segment to a primary user device of a user for presentation on the primary user device. The content delivery platform may retrieve an advertising content segment from an advertising content store for presentation. The advertising content segment is provided by an advertiser that is sponsoring the presentation of the program content segment on the primary user device. The content delivery platform may send the advertising content segment to a secondary user device of the user for presentation at the secondary user device.

A method is disclosed. The method may include receiving real market data from a database; receiving user input data from a user device; retrieving a real-time current follower count for a user; determining at least one of an activity price per follower or an adjusted price per follower based on the retrieved real-time current follower count; generating an adjusted dataset by adjusting the filtered received real market data based on the determined at least one the price per follower or the adjusted price per follower; generating one or more match level tables by reducing the adjusted dataset based on one or more predetermined thresholds; generating a final dataset based on the generated one or more match level tables; and determining a suggested activity price for the user based on the generated final dataset.

Another embodiment of this invention preferably includes generating indexes for diamond prices, wine prices, luxury item prices, housing values, mortgage prepayments, privately-held companies or for anything with from sufficiently liquid points of value. Another embodiment of this invention preferably includes a centralized data base for retrieving closing and current auction prices for determining the value of, and best method for the auctioning of various items. The data provided by this data base would improve liquidity by creating greater price transparency.

The method includes receiving electronic data comprising shipment identification for a shipment of an item from a shipping client to a recipient. Specialized programable software code is generated and a resulting profile is generated for the recipient. A visible promotional structure associated with a package comprising the shipment is generated and presented during delivery of the package. Generating the visible promotional structure may include generating a physical structure or a digital structure.

The present teaching relates to displaying ads. An explore/exploit layer (EEL) is provided at frontend ad serving engine for storing combination distributions with respect to multiple ads. Each ad has multiple attributes. Each attribute can be instantiated using one of multiple assets. The frontend ad serving engine requests a recommended ad for bidding an ad display opportunity in a slot of a webpage viewed by a user on a user device. The recommended ad is one of the multiple ads. When the auction is successful, a combination of assets for the ad is drawn from the combination distributions in EEL and each of the assets instantiates a corresponding attribute of the ad. The combination is transmitted to the user device to render the ad.
